The seminar on color evaluation data for offset paper printing (sheet-fed offset) and the review meeting on the evaluation process for C9 offset paper printing (sheet-fed offset) were successfully held.
On December 12th, the "Offset Paper Printing (Sheet-fed Offset) Color Evaluation Data Seminar (First Meeting) and C9 Offset Paper Printing (Sheet-fed Offset) Evaluation Process Review Meeting" were held at the China Academy of Printing Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as "CAPST"). The meeting brought together nearly 30 industry experts from representative textbook publishing organizations, printing enterprises, color service agencies, professional schools, and equipment and consumables manufacturers.

Zhao Pengfei, Party Secretary and President of the China Academy of Printing Technology, delivered the opening speech. On behalf of the Academy, he expressed sincere gratitude to all the experts who have long supported the research institute and contributed to the continuous optimization and iteration of the C9 evaluation system. Zhao Pengfei emphasized that the standardization of color evaluation for offset paper (sheet-fed offset) in China is still in its infancy. The purpose of this meeting is to create an open and pragmatic communication platform. He earnestly invited all experts to brainstorm and freely share their opinions, actively exchange practical experiences, and contribute valuable insights to jointly advance the standardization of color evaluation for offset paper (sheet-fed offset), while also promoting the iterative improvement of the C9 evaluation system and collectively filling the gaps in the industry.

At the beginning of the meeting, Li Zhijie, Director of the Craft Research Center of the Chinese and Indian Academy of Sciences, presented a special report on 'Color Evaluation Data for Coated Paper Printing (Sheetfed Offset)'. The report was based on over 400 actual test samples from 12 printing enterprises across 11 provinces, collecting more than 30,000 test data points in total, and conducting an in-depth analysis of over 4 million calculated results. It focused on key issues related to coated paper (sheetfed offset) such as core evaluation data associated with color standards, measurement conditions and tolerance determination, and basic materials. The report aimed to promote a unified consensus on industry data standards and provide solid technical support to fill the standardization gap in the field of color evaluation for coated paper sheetfed offset printing.

During the seminar session, the participating representatives conducted in-depth discussions on determining target data for color evaluation in offset paper printing (sheet-fed offset), reaching multiple consensuses that clarified the technical direction and implementation logic for subsequent R&D work. At the same time, the meeting defined the relevant parameters for the C9 offset paper printing (sheet-fed offset) evaluation project and established the evaluation process.
In the future, the China-India Academy of Sciences will focus on the goal of 'standard-driven industrial upgrading,' gather industry collaboration, and use the C9 laboratory as an important platform to continuously build a technology exchange platform. It will work with relevant departments and institutions to promote the standardization of color quality in offset paper (sheet-fed offset) printing, expand the application and iteration of the C9 evaluation system in the offset paper field, and strengthen standard support through technological innovation. By addressing industry challenges collaboratively, it will provide solid and reliable technical support and service for the control of publishing and printing quality.
