Lekou book encapsulation process improvement


At present, one of the Lekou books on the domestic book market is processed by two hot melt adhesive encapsulation processes. The general process is to first seal the knives with a cardboard of about 250g/m2, and then cover the cover. The main defect of the Lekou book made by this encapsulation process is that the glue layer is too thick and easy to round back. If yellow glue is used more obviously, the transparent glue is used, and the cost is too high.


The process is carried out twice on the binding machine, and there will be a spacer layer in between, and the void ratio at both ends is as high as 30%, and the bonding is not firm. Because the first layer of glue is also melted by heat during the second encapsulation, and the cover is thicker, the back of the book is squeezed and then stretched by the cover during the encapsulation process, and the first layer of colloid is liable to cause voids. In response to this situation, powder or talcum powder can be added to the ethyl acetate water emulsion to reconcile the gap cavity, but the hollow in the middle of the book can not be processed, and can only be natural. Moreover, this method can only temporarily beautify, the product inventory time is slightly longer, and the two layers of colloids will still naturally detach and form a void.


In response to this problem, our factory has made some improvements to the process. The specific improvement method is as follows.


1. Improve process design

For example, many of the Lekou books sold in the market now use a cover cover, that is, the cover is indented as required, and then placed on the book block of the cut knife, the mouth is cut, and then the knife is cut on both sides. This process design can improve the quality of the book.


2. Improve the encapsulation process

After wrapping the paper jam, cut the door knife. The second encapsulation was carried out in the same manner as the flat booklet, and the hot melt adhesive used was changed to polyvinyl alcohol. In the process of hand-wrapped brushing, in order to ensure the width of the side rubber of the cover, the glue should be piled according to the thickness of the book back. The book should be staggered by 1mm, the width of the side rubber mouth should be controlled at 3-7mm, and the glue should be collected. Clean and prevent wild rubber. Since the cover is sealed by the first indentation, the position of the book block is relatively easy to control, and the back of the book is also easy to center. Finally, the hot back is performed on the ironing machine, and the thermostat of the hot backing machine is used to keep the temperature at about 75 °C, because the hot melt adhesive can be melted at 80 ° C, even in the hot back process, even the first hot melt adhesive A small amount of small holes appear in the encapsulation, and all of them can be flattened when the back is hot. This not only saves the trouble of filling both ends, but also saves the cost of the second binding.


In this operation, pay attention to the hot back time and temperature, the time should not be too long, the temperature should not be too high, and should be adjusted according to the actual effect. The time of ironing should be made of polyvinyl alcohol, and the cover is not wrinkled, and the rubber mouth is not widened. In addition, when the hot back operation is applied, the hand of the cover is overwhelmed in one direction, and when the pressure plate is pressed down, the part of the mouth is flat, and the line is pulled when the mouth is pressed, so that the quality is better.


If you only make a direct-covering book (non-stick paperboard), for those bookbinding machines that do not have a second landing platform, you should use the first method of binding the glue and then dividing the door cutter. Then directly on the machine for binding.


Attention should be paid to the completion of the process: the signatures should be bundled and brushed, and the error of the back of the book should be less than 0.5mm to avoid the book back. For the book cores that are easy to scatter, such as coated paper book cores, in addition to brushing the backing glue, the other side is also spaced and glued, brushing half of the book width. For a small number of loose book cores, it should be cleared in time after stacking, re-bundle the glue, and pay attention to the remaining amount of milling when required. If the part of the mouth is not croked, you can use a hot back machine to press it again. In addition, in order to cut the knife, it needs to be wrapped with the paper, and then peeled off after the knife is cut.


As a result, the color of the back of the book is messy, so the second milling back is required before the formal encapsulation. This requires that the first time the glue is to be as thin as possible, otherwise the first layer of rubber milling is not clean, the effect of the second time is not guaranteed, and the back of the book may be wrinkled. Moreover, the degree of wear of the milling cutter is increased (the milling backing knife is 86 yuan/hand), and the material cost is increased (calculated according to the amount of glue of 0.2 kg/ream, and the cost of the 10,000-volume book is about 700 yuan of adhesive). Therefore, reasonable improvement of the encapsulation process not only improves the efficiency of the binder production line, but also effectively saves costs.


Hot back machine reuse


In the past, there were no less than two hot-backing machines in the general professional bookbinding factory. After the wire-bonding process was eliminated, many manufacturers treated the excess ironing machine as scrap iron. In the non-automatic ironing machine, we chose a poor performance, and removed all the other components related to the hot back function, leaving only the frame base and the front panel, and then repairing the temperature control of the electric furnace, using hot The original heating plate on the back machine makes the hot melt glue melt and stick to the seal or seal 3.


The wireless binding linkage line is stopped once during the production process. Generally, there are glue failures on the front cover of the first three and the last four books, and the aging of the glue sometimes blocks the rubber wheel, and a large number of side-adhesive books appear. . At this time, a small number of books can be repaired with an electric iron. If the number of fault books is large, the work difficulty is increased. If you use the heating panel of the ironing machine to heat the side rubber parts, you can repair multiple books with weak side glue at the same time. During operation, you should pay attention to the time and temperature of the hot book. Use the thermostat in the hot back machine to control the temperature at about 75 °C, because the hot melt adhesive can be melted at 80 °C, and should be prevented from heating for a long time during the hot back process. The hot melt glue melts into the book block to widen the side rubber mouth.


In the past, a book with a small amount of adhesive or side glue was not changed. It is now a hot cover on the ironing board. It can be burned in a short time, no need to change the cover, it can be effective. save costs. If the above failure occurs in the production of high-speed binding line, there will be more books to be repaired, and the utilization value of the ironing machine will be more significant.
