At the Printing Enterprise Pollutant Control and Governance Technology Forum, He Zhengchu, a senior engineer of the Shanghai Academy of Environmental Sciences, gave a wonderful speech with the interpretation of the “Printing Industry Air Pollutant Emission Standards and Control Policies”. Some of the speeches are organized as follows. Provide reference and reference for printing companies to significantly reduce VOCs emissions.
What are VOCs?
An organic compound that participates in atmospheric photochemical reactions or measures or accounts for a defined organic compound according to a prescribed method.
Common VOCs: benzene series, petroleum hydrocarbon compounds, organic chlorides, Freon series, organic ketones, amines, alcohols, ethers, esters, acids, and the like. (Common in the printing industry: esters, alcohols, ketones, benzene, etc.)
Printing industry status
The sources of VOCs in the printing industry are mainly solvent-based inks, fountain solutions, adhesives, coating liquids, varnishes, and car wash water. The printing industry VOCs discharge nodes are mainly used in printing, compounding, coating, glazing and baking. Dry printing and other processes; printing companies mainly use offset printing, followed by gravure printing, gravure printing currently uses solvent-based inks, which is the main source of VOCs emissions in the printing industry; at present, the management level of printing enterprises is quite different, and effective end-of-pipe treatment facilities are adopted. Less; the printing efficiency of typical printing companies is only 20-40%, but the NMHC emission concentration can reach 600 mg/m3, and the typical compounding and coating process NMHC concentration can reach 3500 mg/m3.
Abatement measures
1. Green raw and auxiliary materials
Raw materials with low VOCs content were used to replace raw and auxiliary materials with high VOCs content.
2, clean production process
Process control: Optimize process scheduling, reduce downtime, and frequently change prints.
Ink supply: A central ink supply system is used.
Printing method: flat offset printing using oil ink, UV ink, flexo printing of water-based ink and UV ink instead of gravure and flexo printing using solvent-based ink.
Compound: Solvent compounding is replaced by solventless compounding.
3. Production management
Ink adjustment: set the special ink adjustment room, use the mobile suction hood when the ink needs to be re-adjusted during the use of the ink.
Printing: effective collection of printing and drying exhaust; ink tank and ink supply system are sealed in normal production process; reduce trial printing and waste quantity.
Car wash: use a wiping car wash, automatic car wash, and need to rinse to set up a special washing workshop.
Composite: effective collection of composite and drying exhaust; adhesive coating tank sealed air exhaust.
Recording account: The pollution unit records the VOCs raw material name, VOCs content, purchase amount, usage amount, and inventory amount.
