According to the data released by the General Administration of Statistics of Vietnam, the average growth rate of Vietnam's packaging industry is currently about 15% -20%. In 2023, the total output value of Vietnam's packaging industry reached about 800 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of about 17%. The size of the Vietnamese paper packaging market is expected to reach 4.14 billion US dollars by 2029, with a compound annual growth rate of 9.73% during the forecast period (2024-2029).
The packaging industry in Vietnam has also attracted numerous overseas investors, such as Swedish company Tetra Pak, Japanese companies Bandai Namco and Marubeni, Malaysian company Box Pak, as well as well-known companies such as Zhenglong, Junsi, Hongxing, Yatuosi, Yutong, Hexing, and Meiyingsen.

The packaging industry in Vietnam is mainly concentrated in the two major economic centers of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, as well as surrounding provinces and cities such as Dong Nai, Xing'an, and Beining, which facilitate timely supply of huge industrial and consumer packaging demand.

According to the Vietnamese government's estimation, by 2025, more than half of the 100.3 million Vietnamese people will participate in online shopping. According to statistics, in 2023, Vietnamese e-commerce used a total of 170000 tons of various packaging and plastic materials. The estimated size of Vietnam's e-commerce market in 2024 is $14.7 billion, and it is expected to reach $23.77 billion by 2029, with a compound annual growth rate of 10.09%.
