From 'Waste Bottles' to 'High-End Membranes'
Driven by the global environmental protection wave and the "double carbon" goal, plastic pollution control and resource recycling have become the focus of industrial upgrading. Recently, a key project located in Weihui Circular Economy Industrial Park, Henan Province, has made key progress - the first recycled polyester film production line invested and built by Henan Yinda New Materials Co., Ltd. has entered the final commissioning stage and will be officially put into operation soon. This not only marks a major technological breakthrough in our country in the field of high-value recycling of polyester, but also provides a large-scale and industrialized solution for the closed-loop recycling of plastic waste "from bottle to film".
From "waste bottles" to "high-end films": technological breakthroughs to improve the value chain
Traditional plastic recycling is often limited to downgrading and recycling, and the added value of products is limited. Through the self-developed "polyester high-value recycling and recycling technology", Yinda New Materials' production line converts recycled PET plastic bottles into high-quality recycled polyester (rPET) raw materials after efficient cleaning, crushing, screening and deep purification, and further processes them into recycled polyester film with performance comparable to virgin materials.
What is particularly striking is that the project simultaneously introduced an 8.7-meter wide PETG film production line, which is not only the widest production line of the same type in China, but also represents the industry's cutting-edge equipment and technology integration level. The production line is expected to increase production capacity by about 25%, and can produce film products that meet the needs of the high-end market, which are widely used in food packaging, electronic devices, printing and decoration and other fields, and truly realize the leap from "recycling" to "high-value utilization" of waste plastics.
The market is in urgent demand, and orders have been scheduled for the Spring Festival
The construction of the project is not blind expansion, but based on a keen insight into market trends. With the deepening of the sustainability commitment of global brands and manufacturers, the demand for recycled materials is "qualitatively growing". Zhu Wenzheng, head of marketing of Yinda New Materials, revealed that although the production line is in the trial production stage, orders have been scheduled for the Spring Festival, of which more than 50% of the production capacity is for the international market. This fully confirms the important position of recycled polyester film in the global green supply chain and the forward-looking layout of the project.
The environmental protection benefits are significant, promoting the green transformation of the whole industry chain
After the project is fully operational, it is expected that 200,000 tons of waste plastics can be comprehensively recycled every year, which is equivalent to reducing carbon emissions by more than 300,000 tons, and the environmental benefits are equivalent to adding a vast forest. More importantly, as a benchmark project, it is expected to form a strong demonstration effect, drive the coordinated transformation of the whole industry chain of upstream recycling and sorting, midstream recycling processing, and downstream green product application, and inject new impetus into the construction of regional and even national circular economy systems.
