Countdown to the 2025 Shanghai-Style Paper Art Exhibition: First Sneak Peek Released, Exclusive Reveal of the Exhibition Site!
Exhibition Setup in Progress

The 2025 Shanghai-style Paper Printing Art Exhibition awaits your arrival, with only one day left until its opening. At the Shanghai Printing Typeface Exhibition Hall, No. 60, Lane 1209, Xinzha Road, Shanghai, a lively spatial narrative is unfolding. The exhibition team, taking on the role of 'architects on paper,' condenses a 30-day artistic journey into every inch of the exhibition space through the interplay of light, shadow, and paper.
Venue Deconstruction
Walking into the exhibition hall is like opening a three-dimensional poem on paper. The exhibition follows the narrative theme of 'Paper Records Time, Cherish Every Moment,' showcasing the new possibilities of paper as a carrier of cultural heritage in a contemporary context, as well as the unique depth and charm of Shanghai-style print art culture. The venue deliberately preserves the industrial texture of the building, focusing attention on the exhibits. When the spotlights in the hall are turned on, every fold tells the life of the paper, and stepping inside is like entering a cyclical theater of paper and light.

Huayun Fenglian - Intangible Cultural Heritage Collection Gift
Shanghai Yingfang Culture Communication Co., Ltd.

The Huayun Fengnian Gift Box is a special tribute from "Huafeng." Inside the gift box, there is a woodblock carved ornament and a small hand-crafted night light with intangible cultural heritage printing (rechargeable, plug-in, dual-use, dimmable). It is not only a practical home product but also an artistic piece that carries cultural heritage. The text used in the gift box is the Huafeng True Song typeface created by "Huafeng" in the 16th year of the Republic of China, which was the most exquisite, most systematic, and best-selling typeface at the time. The design of the carving board draws inspiration from century-old metal type molds, and the wood carving pattern is taken from the stub border examples in Huafeng's 1926 typecasting border sample book, cleverly integrating the blessings of "casting" and "wishing," using peony and bat patterns to convey good wishes. Two centennial old copper type molds produced by Huafeng, a century-old Chinese brand, are selected for the carvings, each over 50 years old and extremely precious. Each gift box is a unique limited edition and comes with a certificate of authenticity to attest to its unique value. The night light's artwork is a hand-printed piece by an intangible cultural heritage inheritor, and the warm light passing through the rice paper print creates an interplay of light and shadow, crafting a cozy atmosphere in any space.
Shanghai Story × Song Wei Set
Shanghai Tongkun Digital Printing Co., Ltd.

This work centers on the concept of 'the symbiosis of art and technology,' integrating packaging boxes, scarves, and cultural and creative bags to showcase the diverse innovations of digital printing. The packaging boxes use eco-friendly 270g dark-patterned paper combined with 120g colored textured paper, enhanced through a 2mm Dutch plate 3D structure and UV low-relief printing, elevating both tactile and visual layers; laser-stamped text and elastic waistband designs combine artistry and functionality. The cultural and creative bags are made with waterproof felt fabric, accurately reproducing artist Song Wei's paintings through digital printing, giving traditional materials new vitality. The scarves (provided by Shanghai Story) resonate with the packaging craftsmanship in a balance of softness and rigidity, creating a multidimensional artistic experience. The work transcends the limits of its medium, deeply integrating eco-friendly materials, digital printing technology, and artistic expression, precisely interpreting the concept of 'printing as art,' echoing the trend of green design, and showcasing new cultural creativity empowered by technology.
"Microscopic Insect Atlas"
Shanghai Artron Art Printing Co., Ltd.
The "Ultra-Macro Insect Atlas" includes 144 fascinating insect species photographed by Xue Hanyang over three years, featuring more than 200 ultra-macro photography works. The images in this photography collection are vibrant and richly detailed, allowing people to clearly see the intricate details of tiny insects and appreciate the wonders of nature's creations. The book's design is also exquisite, using eight-color printed ink and bound with traditional hand-stitched techniques, giving it a strong literary feel. The cover features a fold-out design that, when opened, reveals a close-up of the eye of a Weetal Helen from Australia spanning three pages-innovative and striking. The book also includes two four-page fold-outs that perfectly capture insect details. Additionally, it contains a special insert titled "The Amazing Rove Beetle Family," a set of 16 postcards, and fridge magnets. On the black hard slipcase, the small blue tortoise beetle shows different gloss under varying light conditions.
