At present, the market, technology and standards of gravure VOCs are constantly changing. Especially for the choice of treatment process, unorganized control and whether the waste heat is used for production, there are still many differences in the market, and the industry consensus has not yet been reached. This paper has compiled the current mainstream treatment technology of gravure exhaust gas and some related views, including the gravure air volume, concentration, ink amount, safety, compliance, heat, drying, printing machine design, etc. The purpose is to share and share with you from the technical level. If there is anything wrong, please correct me.

Treat low concentration exhaust gas separately

(1) If the exhaust gas is not considered together when the gravure main exhaust gas is treated, the exhaust gas of the main exhaust gas should be treated after the treatment reaches the standard, and the exhaust gas emission concentration is low and the air volume is large.

(2) The concentration of exhaust gas in the gravure floor varies greatly from factory to factory, generally 0.2-1.0g/m3. The exhaust gas mainly comes from the solvent added on site. Generally, the added amount per printing unit is 2~3kg/h. This value will vary greatly depending on the site closure and site management.

(3) The blown film, extrusion, bag making process, as well as the exhaust gas generated by the curing room, ink storage, cleaning room, hazardous waste storage, etc. are also low concentration exhaust gas. The blown film and extruded exhaust gas generally need to be treated separately.

(4) The runner is currently one of the ways to control low-concentration exhaust gas.

(5) Whether plasma, photolysis, activated carbon adsorption, etc. are applicable, need to be market-proven or officially certified.

(6) The government also advocates the use of biological methods to control low-concentration waste gas, but the effects of treatment have not yet been determined.

(7) When using the runner, the ozone generated by the varnish used in the printing process, the ozone generated by the UV light source, and the high boiling substances, high polymers, etc. which may exist in the ink may cause damage to the runner, and need special note.

(8) The low-concentration treatment of the purified external exhaust body is not recommended for recycling.

(9) Low-concentration exhaust gas treatment is more difficult, and new technologies are expected.

(10) As the application of the runner in the gravure printing is still not much, the industry experience is not much, it is recommended to choose carefully.

Unorganized exhaust gas collection

After the wind reduction, the smell of solvent in the workshop is obviously increased, which is not conducive to occupational hygiene. This is mainly because the total exhaust volume of the workshop is greatly reduced after the wind reduction, and the unorganized pollution of the nodes of the oven and the ink supply is unchanged, which makes the workshop VOCs The concentration increases. The government has been continually emphasizing the need to strengthen the collection of unorganized waste gas, closed production, and strict requirements for reducing the solvent odor on site. How to improve unorganized exhaust gas collection has the following recommendations.

The first step is to minimize and quantify the amount of unorganized soil:

(1) Reducing the amount of unorganized fouling of the ink supply system of the printing press, mainly due to the amount of solvent added to the ink tank;

(2) The on-site environmental management of the workshop must be guaranteed (capped, closed, negative pressure, etc.);

(3) The amount of unorganized soil production depends mainly on the original design of the gravure oven and ink tank;

(4) Imported equipment in Europe and the United States is obviously better, and the version of the car-type inking mode is better closed, and the pollution is small;

(5) For the gravure printing equipment, the oven should be closed, the ink tank is closed, and the ink tank is closed;

(6) The country and industry should formulate relevant standards for printing and drying, and new equipment should be sold at the standard.

In the second step, the minimum unorganized amount of pollutants based on the above industry standards is the object of on-site solvent odor management, and attempts to minimize ground gusting or cancel ground gusting.

In the third step, if the above measures are implemented, the solvent smell of the workshop is still very large, and it is necessary to increase the ground ventilation between the units.

The fourth step, if it is not effective to improve or build a new factory, you can ask professional manufacturers to do airflow control in unorganized workshops.
