With the development of the flexible packaging industry, the continuous expansion of the plastic printing industry and the fierce competition in the market, plastic gravure companies face many difficulties and problems, especially the cold food and beverage market is more prominent. Some companies use low-grade materials for color printing and bag making. Although there is a place in the price, there are many quality problems. The following are some of the problems that affect the printing quality due to climate change:

Impact of climate on film properties

The change of climate makes the performance of plastic film also change. The temperature and humidity are too high, the water absorption rate of the film is relatively high, and the printing ink is not easy to dry, which directly affects the gloss of the ink. Because the ink is dried too slowly, the printing will increase the drying conditions, forcing the ink to evaporate too quickly, resulting in poor gloss and poor ink color. For example, printing nylon film has high temperature, high humidity, and is more prominent, and some phenomena such as poor firmness are easy to occur. Based on these conditions, it is necessary to use the film produced in the near future when using the film and to pay attention to the packaging of the film to avoid the above phenomenon.

Climate impact on ink performance

The drying performance of the ink directly affects the quality of the product. The drying of the ink, in addition to the drying conditions of the ink itself, the impact of the climate is most important. The effects of climate can be divided into: too fast drying, too high temperatures, and too low humidity. The humidity is too high, and the temperature is too high, which makes printing difficult. In the hot summer season, the drying speed of the inner layer on the printed matter is obviously too fast, and the drying of the ink layer is obviously slow. Therefore, to alleviate the reaction of the ink to the ambient temperature and humidity, when using the ink thinner, use the solvent that meets the national standard to mix the fast-drying thinner, and then control the temperature and humidity of the workshop. The general printing workshop is about 25 °C, and the humidity cloth is 65%. Between 75%.

Control the impact of climate on prints

When the temperature is too high and the humidity is too high, the pigment powder of the ink itself is easy to absorb water, and the water absorption rate is too high, which may make the ink thicker and fail to meet the requirements of the printed product. Because the color of the ink is different, the pigment powder used is not asked. The water absorption rate is also different. Example: Red pigment powder has a higher water absorption rate than other pigment powders. Therefore, climate change occurs. When the temperature and humidity are too high, the ink fountain should be controlled, and the semi-closed type of stirring ink stick should be adopted. If there is water droplets in the ink fountain, it should be sucked out by sponge in time, and new ink should be added in time. Immediately after the shutdown, the ink in the ink fountain is released and sealed.

Control solvent quality: In addition to controlling the impact of climate on the printed product, it is also necessary to use the solvent that meets the national standard. Many companies use the printed ink ink to replace the composite ink. The performance of the general surface printing ink is different from that of the composite ink. The solvent is also different. The solvent does not meet the requirements. The composition contains different components, the volatilization speed is different, and some solvents have too high water content. After a period of time in Sichuan, the water is absorbed by the pigment powder, and it is easy to react, causing separation and expansion, and it is also prone to odor and bubbles after compounding, which affects the firmness. When the surface is printed, the inner layer is too thick, the thinner material does not meet the requirements, and it is easy to cause primary and secondary adhesion. Therefore, controlling the quality of the solvent is an important guarantee for the quality of the printed product.
