The selected lubricating oil must first meet the requirements of reducing the frictional resistance and energy consumption between the opposite surfaces of the friction pair, reducing the surface wear, extending the service life of the printing equipment, and ensuring the normal operation of the equipment. At the same time, solve the problem of cooling, pollution and corrosion. In practical applications, the best lubricating oil should be as simple as possible under the premise of satisfying the above conditions, easy to maintain, and easy to obtain resources.
grease
Grease is a solid or semi-solid product formed by dispersing one or more thickeners into one or several liquid lubricating oils. It consists of a base oil, a thickener and an additive. The properties of the grease It is determined by the three components and the structure formed. Therefore, understanding the main characteristics of the various components of the grease and its impact on the performance of the grease, mastering the characteristics of various greases is very important for us to select and study the grease.
1. Characteristics of grease
At normal temperature and at rest, the grease acts like a solid and adheres to the friction surface without slipping. At high temperatures or when subjected to a certain external force, it can flow and lubricate like a liquid. When the external force stops and the temperature returns to normal temperature, it has a certain consistency and viscosity. Therefore, this characteristic of the grease determines that it has the following advantages compared with the lubricating oil:
1) Grease does not require complicated sealing devices and oil supply systems;
2) It can work on unsealed or poorly sealed wear parts to effectively prevent the intrusion of dust and moisture;
3) The grease has a long service life and is advantageous in places where it is difficult to refuel frequently;
4) Grease has good lubrication effect on parts with low speed, high load and large impact load;
5) The grease is used in a wider temperature range than the lubricant.
Disadvantages of grease:
1) It does not flow at normal temperature, so it is difficult to add fat, change fat and clean;
2) It is difficult to filter out the mixed moisture, dust, abrasive chips and impurities;
3) The movement resistance is large, the heat is large, and the cooling effect is poor;
4) It is not suitable for high-speed parts. Generally speaking, the grease of ordinary mineral oil is only allowed to use the DN value, that is, the inner diameter of the bearing (mm) × the speed (r/min) ≤ 300,000 mm · r / min. Synthetic greases can have a DN of 500,000 to 600,000 or even 1 million.
2. Selection of grease
There are many types and grades of grease, and the application is also very wide. To make full use of the performance of the grease and achieve the best use, it is necessary to understand the characteristics of various greases and the working conditions, lubrication methods and oil changes of the application. Cycles, etc.
