Ink standard

Offset standards will become more and more demanding – these requirements will change the way lead shops operate. The reason behind this is clear – the use of binding standards means that results can be expected throughout the department, and quality can be compared without having to consider locations or output devices. The requirements of the printing client are more independent of the printer and are not related to the price offered, which is a decisive factor in the future confirmation of the order. From digital drafting to finished press, there are a number of factors that can affect the final color results, including new ink grades or dot gain due to changes in ink overprinting. Sometimes, users submit data and proofs to let the printer handle color specifications that are difficult to achieve on the press. Regardless of the way you look at it, “printing effects on your press” are expensive and inefficient processes that often produce unsatisfactory results. If no matter what efforts are made, the results of the printing will not match the proof, which will greatly open the door to complaints. Therefore, the reliability and stability of the inking is the most basic condition for every printer.

Advantages:

Increase productivity across the value added chain.

Carefully coordinate the entire printing process from prepress to printing.

True color proofing.

Thanks to systematic quality control, the reliability of the process is increased and the quality is more consistent.

Stable ink infusion from the beginning

Prinect Color Solutions delivers faithful reproduction of color throughout the workflow. This solution offers a wide range of products and solutions for true color, low cost production. By ensuring that all components work together efficiently and with precise control, the system is able to achieve the most possible color faithful reproduction, with the highest quality standards in the printing process, with significant advantages in production. These advantages can only be achieved in Heidelberg, the world's only manufacturer that can provide color management from prepress to printing.

Targeted color management

Proof proofs, plates, and prints should all have the same color effect. To achieve this, we need to look at the color from the point of view of the press and see the interaction between the components of the process. That is to say, the "fingerprint" of the printing press is integrated into the prepress stage, so that any change in the printing conditions is automatically reflected in the plate making process of the proofing proof and the printing plate.

Therefore, by integrating pre-set, measurement, calibration, and characterization into a single cycle, you can get the desired inking results.

Prinect color solution in practical applications

Perhaps you want to know more specific examples of how this process works? Use the Prinect Imprint system to calibrate the integrity and printability of the PDF files provided by the customer. The color that cannot be matched by the current printing ink printing is adjusted using the corresponding ICC profile. The printed documents can then be printed by Prinect Stars for inspection on the proofer. The final simulation of the print is performed using a signature file that interfaces with the press and proofer. If there is no problem with the proofing, the data will be transmitted by the Prinect Stars to the connected laser imagesetter, and then the plates will be made. The correct calibration characteristics are automatically selected.

At the same time, Prinect Stars generates digital files with pre-set parameters, provides digital reference values, and checks the printed sheets with Prinect image control software. Proof proofs, plates and pre-set data are simultaneously transferred to the pressroom. The Prinect Calibration Toolbox and the Prinect Profile Toolbox generate different output conditions and verification characteristics of the ICC profile. Measurements can be easily measured using Prinect image control software or other colorimeter.

Color fidelity in printing

Next, the Prinect Prepress Interface calculates the ink area ink coverage values used by the press based on prepress data, and transmits these data along with the registration marks and other pre-set values to the Prinect CP2000 Control Center. In this way, the inking process is highly automated during the setting process, which greatly reduces the press preparation time. Select the correct ink preset value on the press, depending on the ink and paper grades used. If the situation of the consumables is taken into account, the optimized inking can be achieved very quickly. At the same time, the Prinect image control software accepts reference values from the prepress and generates digital proofs. The measurement results in the production run are returned to the prepress through the Prinect Image Control Center so that adjustments can be made after the production conditions have changed. Only by closely connecting the printing press and the prepress stage in this way can a rapid response to changes in printing conditions be made.
