What is the free processing CTP plate
There are many concepts in the industry regarding the disposal of CTP plates. In a broad sense, the CTP-free material is a plate that can be printed on a direct-plate-making device without any subsequent processing. Of course, it does not require chemical development and rinsing. In the narrow sense, the CTP-free material means that the plate does not need to be chemically developed after exposure on the direct plate-making machine, but there are individual non-chemical treatment processes, such as plate ablation of waste. Clear, apply protective glue and other processing work.
Due to various conditions and limitations in the use of technology, some CTP-free plates have not been used in large-scale commercial applications. There are two main types of process-free CTP plates currently used on the market: chemical-free CTP plates and on-machine CTP plates. The chemical-free CTP plate adopts the principle of hot melt, and the plastic particles and the hydrophilic material are evenly coated on the plate base. When exposed, the independent plastic particles are thermally melted, and cross-linking reaction occurs between them to form a graphic area. The exposed coating is cleaned by glue to expose the substrate to form a non-image area. After the exposure of the machine-treated CTP plate material, it is not required to perform development in the usual sense but is directly loaded onto the printing machine, and the image is visualized and directly printed by the action of the fountain solution and the ink of the printing machine. Both plates are used by printing companies on the market.
The main free CTP media suppliers on the market today are Sonora XP/ Sonora News, Fuji (Brillia HD Pro-T3, Brillia HD Pro-VC), Agfa (Azura TS, Azura VCF), and Lekai. Huaguang (TD-G, 2%~98%@200lpi), new map (Fit-eCO), and Kangda (KTP-NP).
Points to note when using a process-free CTP plate
In theory, the CTP-free material can be classified into the general category of PS plate. Like ordinary CTP plate, it will cause scratches, white spots, dirty spots or dirty prints. There are fewer problems in the plate-making process for the CTP-free plates, and many problems occur in the printing process. These problems can be handled in the same way as ordinary CTP plates, and chemicals such as cleaning solutions can be used. However, the process-free CTP plate material is different from the ordinary CTP plate material to be developed, so there are some operations that require special attention during use.
For example, some coatings that are free of CTP plates are easy to stick to the fingerprints. It is best to wear gloves when taking them and take them out together with the liner. Unexposed and exposed plates should not be placed under strong light for a long time. It is best to save in the dark; when printing on the machine, it is slightly different from the ordinary CTP plate. The CTP plate needs to be treated first by the water roller, so that the plate is wetted and then printed by the ink roller. In addition, there is a point that is generally easy to ignore: when handling CTP plate storage, it must be placed according to the conditions provided by the manufacturer, so as not to affect the physical and chemical properties of the plate. At the same time, printing companies need to pay attention to the adaptability of printing plates when using CTP-free plates. Because the printing conditions of printing companies vary widely, the technical level and technical habits of operators will affect the printing quality of printing plates.
The CTP-free material has been developed relatively strongly in recent years. Compared with the ordinary CTP plate, there is a broad space for technology and market development, such as a large improvement in the performance of the plate material; the current printing resistance is better than the ordinary CTP version. The material is slightly lower and still needs to be improved; the adaptability of UV ink needs to be improved. With the increasing pressure on environmental protection, it is believed that more manufacturers will introduce CTP-free plates, and more brands and better quality CTP-free plates will enter the market, and their prices will fall. Bringing greater benefits to the majority of printing companies.
