Mr. Li Yucai, the publishing director of the Graphic Arts Society Monthly, invited the letter and hoped that the author would participate in the discussion on the theme of "change and change of the future of printing". I think, for this forward-looking topic, how can we really grasp the pulse of the industry? At this time, the "Print Manager" magazine hosted by me just finished the 2010 "China Printing Enterprise Top 100" appraisal work. Since the beginning of 2003, the top 100 list has been eight years old. It is the collective appearance of the strong enterprises in China's printing industry. It also witnessed the evolution of the scale of the printing industry. Observing the future changes of China's printing industry by the top 100 enterprises that are at the forefront of the industry's transformation, it should be a reference point that can achieve the effect of "seeing the whole panther".

Judging from this year's list, the trends of the top 100 companies are mainly reflected in the following aspects:

One

The trend of becoming bigger and stronger and integrating resources will become stronger and stronger. The total annual sales revenue of 100 companies in this year's list is 65 billion yuan. According to the latest disclosure by the State Press and Publication Administration, the total output value of the printing industry in 2009 has exceeded 600 billion yuan. The 100 most powerful companies account for more than 10% of the total. Considering that these companies account for only one-thousandth of the more than 100,000 companies in the country, and the number of employees is less than 4%, the huge energy of these enterprises can be seen. And the role played in the domestic printing industry.

From the perspective of development trends, the role of these enterprises in the industry will become more and more important, which will be the result of internal and external factors. From the perspective of internal factors, in addition to relying on scale advantages and brand influence to stably expand production capacity, the top 100 enterprises have plans and actions to increase scale through acquisition, mergers, and restructuring. Among the top 100 this year, 15 companies have sold more than 1 billion yuan, and the number of entrepreneurs of 1 billion aircraft carriers has reached a record high. This is a very obvious example. From the perspective of external factors, the focus of this year's national policy on the printing industry is to push the printing industry from a printing country to a printing power. The General Administration of Press and Publication is also formulating relevant measures to speed up printing by identifying and supporting a number of demonstration enterprises. The pace of transformation and upgrading of the industry. And those companies that will enjoy more favorable policy support and accelerate the pace of development will also be inclined to large printing companies or groups.

Second

The growth pole will move from a single to a plural. Judging from the 30-year history of China's printing industry, the Pearl River Delta was once a strong growth engine. Hong Kong enterprises went north and merged with Beishu Nanyin, which created the printing industry prosperity of the Pearl River Delta and the demonstration effect on the whole country. However, since the beginning of the new century, with the full docking of the international market and the rapid growth of domestic demand, more regions have accelerated their rise and become the new growth pole of China's printing industry. Judging from this year's list, there are 24 top 100 companies in the Pearl River Delta with an average sales income of 815 million yuan; 41 companies in the Yangtze River Delta with an average sales income of 617 million yuan; and 9 companies in the Bohai Rim, with an average sales income of 534 million yuan; In the Hubei and Hunan provinces of central China, Chongqing and Sichuan in the southwest, new printing forces are also gathering.

From being outrageous to being stronger, it shows that China's printing industry will face a broader market space, and powerful printing companies will also look at the future trend of “multiple growth poles” and actively position themselves in various growth poles to seize market opportunities. . Guangdong, Shanghai, and Beijing are often the preferred development destinations for these companies, and the new targets are emerging in the central, western, and northeastern regions.

Third

Mixed operations have become an important way to spread risk. Large-scale printing enterprises tend to adopt a mixed operation mode in order to diversify risks and operate steadily while strengthening their scale. In this year's top 100, more companies have expanded from a single business model to a composite business model, especially for traditional publication printing companies, which are more common in packaging printing and other printing.

In the impression of mainland printers, the three major printing industries in the Pearl River Delta, the Yangtze River Delta and the Bohai Sea have distinct individual characteristics: the Pearl River Delta has a strong ability to undertake external orders; the Yangtze River Delta service has more comprehensive business needs, such as packaging. The printing supporting service is in the mainstream position; the publishing resources of Bohai Sea are the most abundant, and the printing enterprises of publications are relatively concentrated. However, the trend of mixed operations of printing companies is gradually weakening the above regional characteristics. In this year's top 100 list, there are signs of increasing assimilation: in the three major industrial belts, the mainstream trend of packaging and printing is relatively obvious, and the hybrid printing business has become the regular business structure of most of the top 100 companies. This may highlight a future development theme: deep excavation of the vast domestic demand market and full service to a wider customer base will be a new impetus for the development of the printing industry in the future.

Four

Digital printing technology accelerates integration into the traditional printing industry. In the top 100 list, there have been statistics on "printing methods" over the years. Last year's list showed that 11 companies introduced digital printing. In this year's list, this number has risen to 16. Among these printing giants, some are traditional digital printing companies that introduce digital printing equipment, and even establish digital printing centers to open up new business directions; some are packaging printing companies trying to apply digital printing technology, adding new service methods and improving business processes; Companies engaged in other printing businesses are exploring digital transformation, including bill printing companies and stationery printing companies. From the exploration of advanced companies in these industries, it can be inferred that the digital printing tentacles have entered a wide range of printing fields and initiated the stage of accelerated integration.
