Different color separation
Because offset printing has high precision and fine dot reproduction, there is not much restriction on color overprinting during graphic printing. Therefore, in the pre-press printing process design, brown, dark blue and the like are mostly made of three colors or four colors. In contrast, flexographic overprinting is less accurate and dot reduction is weaker. In principle, large-area color blocks, text, and lines cannot be achieved by three-color or four-color overprinting.
Since the flexo printing is to adjust the amount of ink transferred by the anilox roller, as long as the selected anilox roller is suitable, the color difference in the printing process is small, so that the color of the flexographic printing can be more uniform by using the spot color printing. .
At the same time, the units in the flexographic printing equipment are often more common with 8 to 10 colors, and the unit is convenient to increase or decrease. Therefore, the flexo printing can use the spot color as much as possible in the prepress design, so that the printing effect is more beautiful. The spot color is large, and the spot color is evenly distributed, and the batch stability of the printed product is better, which is why the flexo printing is more suitable for producing the long version than the offset printing.
In the prepress printing process design, the following considerations need to be considered in the development of spot colors.
1 spot color is best to choose the color number according to the PANTONE color card;
2 must have a color in the spot color for bar code printing;
3 Avoid using two spot colors to create a third color (except when smaller text or lines are stacked on the background color);
4 Avoid using a spot color and any color in CMYK to create a third color (except when smaller text or lines are stacked on the background color).
