Gold ink printing process
In commodity packaging and label printing, gold ink is often used to achieve the printing of golden graphics and texts, and give people a delicate, gorgeous and noble feeling. As a special printing method, gold ink printing is slightly different from ordinary ink printing methods in terms of the use of printing raw materials and process operation. 1. Gold ink blending Gold ink is made of gold powder, gold oil and a small amount of auxiliary materials by mixing. Ordinary color ink is in the form of paste, stored in the can, and usually gold ink is stored in two different containers with gold powder and gold oil, and then according to the proportion (usually the ratio of gold powder and gold oil is 1:1) when the gold ink is printed. At present, there is also a supply of prepared gold ink on the market, which can be printed directly. However, when using it, the printing plant should consider factors such as the amount of ink used in the layout, the printing cycle and the number of products. Because the printing performance of gold ink will change after 1~2 hours of opening, and it will also lose its original metallic luster, so it is best to use it with the adjustment when printing with gold ink. 2. Gold ink printing process Gold ink printing generally adopts neutral or neutral hard lining, and the pressure of the ink roller on the printing plate can not be too large, otherwise it will cause the phenomenon of pasting the plate New Marketing Principles Boost the growth of enterprises E-commerce Marketing Food & Catering Marketing Construction Property Marketing Consumer Goods Marketing The gold ink printing process in the printed matter, when printing, the gold ink layer on the printing plate often occurs insufficient ink in the process of transferring to the surface of the paper or other substrates, and even the bottom is exposed. Therefore, in order to make the gold ink reach a saturated state and fully show its unique metallic luster, the secondary printing method is generally used. At present, there are basically two kinds of secondary printing methods: one is to print fake gold ink as the background color first, and then overprint gold ink; The second is to directly print two times of gold ink. The fake gold ink used in the former method is generally mixed with two kinds of yellow ink, transparent yellow or medium yellow. If the paper is loose and the flatness of the paper surface is poor, the fake gold ink is mainly medium yellow, and an appropriate amount of gold ink is added. If the paper is tight and smooth, use transparent yellow and a small amount of gold ink to mix fake gold ink. When printing, the amount of ink in the background color should be as small as possible, and the principle of not exposing the bottom and not bleeding the edge should be taken. When the background ink is not completely dry, the amount of ink can be slightly larger when the gold ink is overprinted, so as to achieve the saturated state of the gold ink. When using the latter method, it should also be emphasized that it is advisable to overprint the second time when the gold ink of the first printing is not completely dry, because the gold dust in the gold ink is a metallic pigment, and if it is dry before printing, its particles are not easy to stick. 3. Precautions for gold ink printing (1) The nature of the paper The nature of the paper will have a great impact on the quality of gold ink printing, the higher the smoothness of the paper, the better the tightness, the better the metal effect of printing; Conversely, printing on paper with a porous surface and a coarse texture will be less effective. In addition, the pH value of the surface of the paper should be greater than 5.5, otherwise the sulfate contained in the paper will cause the gold powder to change color and blacken, and even cause the gold powder to be corroded and disappear when the printed matter is stacked and stored. (2) Gold ink printing graphics The graphics and texts of the gold ink printing layout should not be too fine, otherwise it is easy to cause paste, and its reflection effect will also become worse. (3) Abrasion resistance The abrasion resistance of the gold ink layer after printing is an important indicator to measure the quality of gold ink printing. At present, there are two measures to solve the wear resistance of gold ink: one is to use a slightly higher viscosity of gold oil to mix gold ink, and the other is to use bright paste to polish after printing. (4) Gold ink discoloration After the gold ink printing product is placed for a period of time, the gold powder will be invaded by sulfur, oxygen, moisture, etc. in the air, which will darken the gloss of the imprint surface and even blacken, affecting the product quality. This is what we usually call the discoloration of gold ink, and it should be paid attention to during the storage of prints. (5) gold ink and other color ink overprinting gold ink printing process in prints should be printed on the dark ground as much as possible, such as printing gold on red, blue, black, the effect is better, especially in purple, black, dark blue and other colors when printing gold ink, the effect is better. In addition, it should also be avoided to print ordinary color ink on gold ink as much as possible. If you must print ordinary color ink on a large area of gold ink, you should first reduce the viscosity of ordinary ink, and you must wait for the gold ink to dry completely before printing, otherwise it will cause the gold ink to bloom.
