According to the federal supply and demand report of the European paper industry, the annual growth rate of publishing paper production is expected to fall from 2.9% to 2.1% in the next three years.

Although the output of newsprint, SC magazine and coated webs maintained an average annual growth rate of 2.9% from 1995 to 2001, it is predicted that the growth rate of coated web will decrease in the next three years. Although some large paper companies have invested in equipment, this situation cannot be recovered.

The data show that between 1995 and 2001, total production increased from 3.8 million metric tons to 23.8 million metric tons, and is expected to increase to 25.4 million metric tons by 2004.

The report also found that the delivery volume of single-published paper had dropped by more than 1 million metric tons at the end of 2001 and is expected to rebound by the end of 2002.

It is estimated that by 2004, the delivery volume will reach 23 million metric tons.

In the past few years, the phenomenon of overcapacity in the market has increased, but the degree of overcapacity will fall from 3.5 million metric tons in 2002 to 2.5 million metric tons in 2004. And in the next three years, the production of web will be expected to decline, while the output of newsprint will increase.

By 2004, the production of European newsprint is expected to exceed 11 million metric tons for the first time. Last year's free newsprint and new newsprint investments have achieved continuous success.

This helps offset the issue of circulation that is reduced due to advertising spending.
