At present, more and more newspaper printing factories have begun to lean management of newspaper printing quality, and adopt process control methods to improve the quality of newspaper printing. Controlling the nodes of each process is the key to improving the efficiency of process control. The author combines the experience of our factory to introduce three important nodes of newspaper printing quality control.
Node 1: Image Processing
The effect of picture printing largely determines the aesthetics of the newspaper, so our factory requires the newspaper not only to ensure the basic printing quality, but also to require the printed pictures to be full of color and rich in layers. Excellence is the goal that our factory pursues.
Our factory not only requires the prepress processing personnel to be familiar with the entire printing process, understand the relevant printing suitability parameters, but also has a high artistic quality and aesthetics, in order to accurately analyze and flexibly handle all kinds of pictures.
In addition, the color reproduction ability of the printing staff is also an important factor affecting the final printing effect of the picture, so the picture printing effect is closely related to the prepress staff and the printing staff.
To this end, our factory calls the pre-press process and the printing process personnel to conduct technical exchanges, analyze problems, solve problems, constantly urge them to carry out technical improvement, and arrange technicians to analyze the quality of printed newspapers every day, and evaluate them well. Node 2: Ink control
Ink color control has always been a difficult point in the quality control of newspaper printing. It is difficult to influence many factors related to ink color control. How to effectively control the color of the ink, each printing factory has its own experience. Our factory mainly controls the ink color by the following methods.
(1) Control the ink color by using the printing and control points. Our factory printed a series of printing control points in the blank area of the newspaper, and gradually adjusted the setting of the printing control points according to our own experience: each pair of layouts is provided with a set of CMYK solid color blocks to detect the solid density of the four colors; Six sets of 25% gray balance contrast color blocks, two sets of 50% gray balance contrast color blocks to ensure the relative accuracy of the layout ink color; a set of 50% four-color mesh points, used to observe the dot quality and dot gain.
During the printing process, the printer can judge the print quality by observing the print control points. This kind of control method requires the printer to have good color and dot judgment ability, otherwise it will not be fully effective. However, since it is impossible to put a set of measuring strips on each ink path, the control method is relatively rough, and only the basic balance of colors can be ensured, and no obvious color deviation occurs, but the advantage is that the process time and cost are not increased, Very good feasibility and effectiveness.
(2) Control the color of the header and the fixed color block. Usually the header and some eyebrows or column color blocks and lines are fixed in color, and the printer can follow the standard proofs. Our factory requires the machine to compare the headers printed every day to ensure that the colors are consistent.
Node 3: The appearance quality of newspapers
The appearance of newspapers is the most intuitive factor for readers to evaluate the quality of newspapers. The most common problem with the appearance quality of newspapers is that the layout is dirty and dirty. Our factory mainly relies on the front-end process control to prevent the newspaper from being dirty and dirty.
(1) Pre-press links require reasonable image processing settings, and the total amount of color overprinting should be controlled below 260%. When the picture or color block is dominated by black, you can use monochrome black, try not to use four-color synthetic black. When the color picture can achieve the same effect, the neutral gray of the overprint in the color is replaced by black as much as possible, so that the amount of the overprinting ink and the total amount of ink can be reduced as much as possible, and the drying speed is slow due to the excessive total amount of ink. This leads to the phenomenon of smudging, dragging, and the like. In addition, newspaper layout designers should try to avoid magnifying the amount of ink or the picture of the person's face at the folding position. This is because if there is a picture at the folding position and the amount of ink in the picture is relatively large, a certain amount of smearing will occur at the position of the line of the adjacent newspaper.
(2) Fix several common inks and use inks with better drying properties. Poor ink drying is an important cause of dirty and dirty newspapers.
(3) Printing links to control the balance of ink and water. We emphasize that the printing should be small and small, which will help the ink to dry quickly and reduce the possibility of dirty and dirty newspapers. Printing personnel are very important in controlling the amount of water. Water is prone to a series of printing failures. Therefore, our factory often conducts technical training for printing personnel, emphasizing the operation points and related knowledge at the front and rear, and minimizing human operation failures.
(4) Adjust the pressure of the printing and finishing equipment. We often check the mechanical properties of the folding machine, the keel of the printing machine and the stacking machine, and make reasonable adjustments to the parts of the newspaper that are subjected to pressure, clamping and dragging by the pulling roller, the discharging roller, the brush, the splint, the belt, etc. This is an effective means of reducing the smearing of newspapers.
