The 46000 Ton Molded Paper Tableware Project Will Be Put Into Operation in 2026

Recently, the Department of Ecology and Environment of Sichuan Province issued a notice that, in accordance with the relevant regulations of the environmental impact assessment approval process for construction projects, after review, it is proposed to make an approval decision on the special bamboo fiber functional material project of Sichuan Huanlong Ecological Technology Co., Ltd. Bambu Health Bamboo Industrial Park.
At this point, the bamboo fiber project with an investment of 1.5 billion yuan has obtained a production permit, and another pulp molding factory is about to start production.

According to relevant public information, Sichuan Huanlong Ecological Technology Co., Ltd. is located in Meishan City, Sichuan Province, with a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan, of which 70 million yuan is invested in environmental protection, accounting for about 4.7% of the total investment. We plan to build a production line with an annual output of 250000 tons (based on air drying) for bleached bamboo pulp, 204000 tons (based on air drying) for fluff pulp (high-performance bamboo fiber absorbent substrate), and 46000 tons (based on air drying, actual dryness of 48%) for molded paper tableware, as well as supporting public and environmental protection facilities.
This project relies on the abundant bamboo resources in Sichuan, and after completion, it can replace about 300000 tons of wood pulp raw materials annually (calculated based on a 1:1.3 bamboo to wood conversion rate). Against the backdrop of the continued deepening of the "plastic ban", the breakthrough in the production capacity of bamboo fiber molded tableware special pulp has provided key raw material guarantees for the environmental packaging industry.

We have signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Technical Research Center of Finland on collaborative research on bamboo biomass refining technology and full value utilization of bamboo. Next, both parties will rely on their respective advantages to carry out research on bamboo biomass refining technology, full value utilization technology, and high value-added bamboo products, gradually forming a unique industrial system for bamboo biomass refining and full value utilization of bamboo, "said the Secretary of the Party Branch of Huanlong Company.
Huanlong Ecological System was established in 1987 as a subsidiary of Huanlong Group. Huanlong Group was originally a globally leading paper blanket mill and owned two major enterprises, Sichuan Huanlong New Materials Co., Ltd. (the parent company of Huanlong Ecological) and Huanlong Holdings Co., Ltd. In 2011, Huanlong Group established Sichuan Huanlong New Materials Co., Ltd. and began to build the entire bamboo fiber industry chain.
In 2022, Huanlong Holdings successfully went public in Hong Kong. In 2023, the Banbu Healthy Bamboo Industrial Park will be officially ignited and put into use.
It is worth noting that Huanlong has also jointly established Guangxi Zhurui Ecological Technology Co., Ltd. with Ningbo Jia, with each party holding 41% of the shares. The first phase of the project produces 200000 tons of chemical bamboo pulp (used for preparing pulp boards), 200000 tons of chemical pulp boards, and 100000 tons of chemical bamboo pulp. All chemical bamboo pulp is used to produce chemical bamboo pulp boards and sent to high-end paper product enterprises in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, while chemical bamboo pulp is directly sent to downstream paper pulp molding enterprises in the park. The second phase of the project will produce 200000 tons of chemical bamboo pulp (used for producing household paper), 200000 tons of high-end household paper, and post-processing. Among them, 200000 tons of chemical bamboo pulp will be converted into high-end paper products within the project.

It is expected that the Huanlong Ecological and Guangxi Zhurui Phase I projects will be completed and put into operation in 2026. After the project is put into operation, Huanlong is expected to become the largest bamboo fiber chain main enterprise in the country.
