Printing Empowers Cultural and Creative Development | Printing and Cultural Creative Industry Integration and Innovation Seminar Successfully Held

 

Nowadays, the domestic cultural consumption market has moved beyond just functional spending, and consumer demand keeps leveling up. Recently, leveraging the platform of the 34th National Book Trade Fair held in Hangzhou, the Seminar on the Integration and Innovative Development of the Printing and Cultural & Creative Industries was successfully held. This seminar focused on the core trends of cross-border integration between printing and cultural and creative industries, bringing together nearly 30 high-quality enterprise representatives and industry experts across the whole industrial chain, including cultural and creative design, book publishing, and printing production. Everyone gathered to exchange insights in depth, jointly exploring directions and feasible paths for the transformation and upgrading of the printing and cultural creative industries, and to pool strengths for high-quality cross-industry integration development. The meeting was hosted by Ma Xuejun, Executive Editor-in-Chief of China Printing magazine.

At the beginning of the meeting, Zhang Zhenyi, Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of China Printing magazine, welcomed the attendees. She pointed out that IP connects culture, design, and the market, bringing brand-new growth opportunities to the entire publishing, printing, and cultural creative industry chain. For the traditional printing industry, this is a rare chance for transformation.

Zhang Zhenyi stated that as an industry media, China Printing magazine has always closely followed new industry trends and opportunities. Going forward, it will continue to provide industry units with a platform for communication, cooperation, and mutual success.

In the keynote session, Wang Shanyang, founder of Wuhu Animation Space and a board member of the China Animation Society, gave a special talk titled 'Printed Products That Can Sell at a Premium in the Future Must Have an 'Animation Feel'.' He analyzed the global trend of the themed print market and broke down the four main ways animation aesthetics can enhance printed products. Keeping in mind the latest AI tech developments, he used plenty of real-world examples to explain how to upgrade and transform the quality of printed products, providing clear ideas and directions for diversifying innovation and boosting product value in the print culture sector.

Yan Leyun, Vice Chairman of the Guizhou Printing Association and General Manager of Guizhou Yunguan Printing Technology Co., Ltd., shared a talk titled 'From "Printing Clearly" to "Printing with Soul" - Structural Transformation and Cultural Creativity Breakthroughs in the Printing Industry under the Expansion of Domestic Demand during the 15th Five-Year Plan.' He analyzed the dual challenges facing the printing industry, combined with trends in macro policies and market demand evolution, to explain the concepts and thinking behind value creation in the context of the rise of cultural creativity. He proposed building a 'printing with soul' capability system based on 'design innovation × craft R&D × product-oriented thinking,' gradually shifting the business model from 'material processing' to 'product development,' and ultimately creating cultural and creative products that are both well-received and commercially successful.

Jia Nan, Deputy General Manager of Zhengming Technology Group, President of the Chinese Confucius Painting and Calligraphy Academy, and Chair of the Cultural Industry Branch of the China Business Culture Research Association, delivered a fantastic talk titled 'Exploring the Industrialization Practice of Cultural and Creative Publishing.' Drawing on years of deep cultivation and practical experience in the cultural and creative field at the Chinese Confucius Painting and Calligraphy Academy, he systematically broke down the complete logic for cultural publishing institutions to leverage their core advantages, expand into the cultural and creative sector, activate cultural value, and overcome growth bottlenecks. He also elaborated on the key paths for enabling cultural empowerment in industry upgrades and reshaping industry growth potential. Alongside this, he shared practical, actionable experiences and mature, referable plans for transforming and upgrading the cultural and creative industry, offering valuable reference for the industrialization and market-driven development of publishing.

Roundtable Forum

During the session, the Chinese Cultural and Creative Development Salon, themed 'Printing Empowers Cultural Creativity: Industrial Integration and Development,' gathered experts from publishing, printing, and cultural sectors to discuss collaborative innovation between publishing organizations and printing and cultural companies, in the context of a consumer market prioritizing 'emotional value for money.' They explored strategies to enhance the development of printing plus cultural creativity. Participants shared insights based on their own enterprises' experiences, delving into market demand changes and printing industry transformations, discussing pain points and difficulties in the cultural creative market, and proposing innovative cooperation models and breakthrough paths.

Visit and Practice

After the meeting, the attendees collectively went to the exhibition area to visit the 34th National Book Trade Fair and the key featured booths of the 'Smart Printing Future – Printing Technology Serving Reading' themed exhibition. Through on-site observation and exchange, the guests could directly see how cultural and creative elements are increasingly permeating and growing in the cultural industry. They personally experienced the technological innovation achievements and solid capabilities of China's publishing and printing industries, while also enabling precise connections among publishing, cultural creativity, and channel resources. Everyone said that the visit was substantial and highly inspiring.

Using printing technology as the carrier and cultural creativity as the core, the Printing + Cultural Creativity Industry Integration and Innovation Development Seminar successfully built a platform for deep dialogue among the printing, publishing, and cultural creativity industries.
