Invest another 5 billion! Chongqing Nine Dragons Paper will build a new 1.3 million ton paper production capacity
On October 20, at the 33rd investment project signing event of 'Hub City · Jinshanghui' in Jiangjin District, Chongqing Nine Dragons Paper and Jiangjin District signed an investment agreement, planning to add 5 billion yuan in investment to build a high-end paper production base with an annual output of 1.3 million tons.

Nine Dragons Paper (Holdings) Limited is headquartered in Dongguan, Guangdong. It went public on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2006 and is currently the world's largest paper production group and a leading integrated pulp and paper company.
Chongqing Nine Dragons Paper is Nine Dragons' third major paper production base after Guangdong and Jiangsu. It's a 'Double Hundred' enterprise in Chongqing and has a municipal-level enterprise technology center. The plant currently employs about 2,000 people, with 1 smart factory and 2 digital workshops. Along the Yangtze River, it has its own cargo wharf and power plant. Its main products include high-grade kraft paper, corrugated paper, and coated grey-backed whiteboard paper.

Deeply rooted in Jiangjin District for 20 years, Chongqing Nine Dragons Paper has invested in four phases of projects, covering a total area of about 3,400 acres with a total capacity of around 2 million tons. By 2025, it is expected to achieve an output value of over 7.8 billion yuan. The new 6 billion yuan investment in 2025 for the integrated pulp and paper smart factory project (Phase IV) officially started production this September, and the company's annual output value is expected to exceed 10 billion yuan by 2026.
"This is the company's fifth investment in Jiangjin, and also the second 5-billion-yuan project invested in the district within two years. The scale of the project and the strength of the company are extremely rare in the city," said Zhao Hui, the head of the Investment Promotion Section of the Jiangjin Comprehensive Bonded Zone Management Committee. The project involves over 480 acres of land, located south of the company's current plant. It is expected to reach full capacity within two years after production starts. At that point, the company's total annual output value is expected to exceed 15 billion yuan, making Chongqing Nine Dragons Paper the first 15-billion-yuan level enterprise in Jiangjin.

As a high-quality existing enterprise in the Jiangjin area of Chongqing's logistics hub economic zone, Chongqing Nine Dragons Paper continues to increase investment and expand production. This is a strong recognition of the park's business environment, infrastructure, and resource support, and it will further boost the clustering effect of leading companies.
With the added annual production capacity of 1.3 million tons of high-grade paper, the park will specifically attract downstream supporting enterprises in paper deep processing, packaging and printing, waste paper recycling, logistics and warehousing, and equipment maintenance. This will fill the gaps in the industry chain, helping the papermaking industry upgrade from single raw paper production to a full-chain closed loop of "waste paper recycling-raw paper manufacturing-packaging products," further strengthening the region's industrial identity and core competitiveness.
