Hunan University of Technology Deepens Integration of Packaging Design Education with Industry and International Collaboration

On June 10, the Industry-Education Empowerment & International Collaboration Forum on Packaging Design Leading High-Quality Industrial Development was successfully held at Hunan University of Technology. Delegations from Malaysia's Elite Education University, experts from Malaysia Guanwang Enterprises, and representatives from various domestic companies attended the event.

The event began with a keynote speech by Dr. Chen Dehong, Honorary President and Founder of Malaysia Elite Education Group. Dr. Chen shared insights on the three-pronged driving system of technology design, the packaging industry, and civilization development, presenting international perspectives and cutting-edge practices in the packaging industry.

During the in-depth industry-education-research discussion session, the atmosphere was lively. Many domestic company representatives eagerly spoke, sharing their industry practices and engaging in mutual in-depth discussions with Malaysian experts. Experts exchanged views on three main topics: exploring long-term talent cultivation paths for packaging design under industry-education integration; assessing how packaging design can balance cultural adaptation and standard coordination in an international collaboration context; and studying the value conversion mechanisms of packaging design in enabling industrial upgrades. Q&A exchanges and sharing of practical experiences sparked numerous ideas for collaborative innovation among industry, academia, and research.

The forum also achieved multiple school-enterprise cooperation results on-site. Awards were presented for the "New Wine Packaging Design for Generation Z" competition co-hosted by Hunan University of Technology and Luzhou Laojiao, honoring the winning students. The university and Luzhou Laojiao completed signing and plaque ceremonies for their innovation base. Innovation and entrepreneurship mentors were appointed for attending company representatives, expanding multi-level platforms for school-enterprise collaborative education.

This forum opened communication channels between China and abroad as well as between schools and enterprises, blending international perspectives with local industry practices. Through discussion, competitions, joint base development, and mentor engagement, it deepened the integration of education with industry and international collaboration in packaging design, building strong momentum for high-quality development in the packaging industry.
