Finlin Group and Amcor establish strategic cooperation to develop fiber based recyclable food packagingFinlin Group and Amco have established a strategic partnership to combine their expertise in innovative packaging technology and jointly develop three-dimensional molded fiber packaging for various foods, with cover films and liners. This collaboration aims to create recyclable products in response to the growing demand for sustainable alternatives in the market.
In this collaboration, Finlin Group's innovative company, Finlin Spring, developed the wood-based molded fiber packaging solution Muoto ™, We will integrate Amco's advanced high barrier film lining and cover film technology. Both parties will join forces to launch an innovative fiber based food packaging that effectively protects perishable foods and extends their shelf life.
Muoto ™ Originating from locally sourced pulp traceable to Nordic forests, it is a renewable and recyclable alternative to plastic packaging. By integrating Amco's laminated films, Muoto ™ The functionality has been significantly improved. This fiber packaging, jointly developed by both parties, can be sealed through a heat sealing structure, which is crucial for specific types of food packaging.
Jarkko Tuominen, Vice President of Finlin Spring Project, said, "Our collaboration with Amcor marks an important step forward in sustainable packaging innovation. Finlin Group and Amcor share a common commitment to reducing environmental impact and have established a long-term partnership based on this. In the future, we will jointly redefine the future of food packaging. "
Anmco uses its AmFiber ™ Our global product portfolio and specialty paper box products provide a diverse range of fiber based packaging solutions. Currently, AmFiber from Amco ™ The product has been distributed on store shelves worldwide and is widely used in various fields such as snacks, candies, dry cooking, beverages, meat, dairy products, etc.
This complete packaging solution has good paper recyclability in most markets, with a CEPI recyclability rating of over 80%. Although currently having good recyclability, the long-term goal of both parties is to develop a fully compostable solution. It is expected that the first batch of products from this cooperation will be launched in Europe this year.
Finlin Group is conducting trial production of Muoto at its demonstration factory located in Ää nekoski ™ Product. The company is currently undergoing a preliminary engineering project, and its results will serve as an important basis for evaluating whether to invest in the construction of the first commercial scale factory.
