Apple closes the "Ancient Age" photo printing service and recommends using third-party solutions
Recently, Apple released an announcement in the photo application of macOS 10.13.6, saying that the photo printing service will be suspended. The service will be officially launched on September 30th. In addition, in the latest macOS Mojave, Apple has removed the service.
It is understood that this service was first introduced in 2002 with the iPhoto app comes with features, including regular printing of albums, albums and calendars. iPhoto was replaced by a photo app a few years ago, but the service has not stopped, but the service is only on the Mac platform, not on the iOS platform.
Although this ancient service has been discontinued, Apple recommends that third-party apps that include the Photos Projects extension be downloaded if needed. Photos Projects is the first to be launched in High Sierra to support integrated photo printing in Apple's photo app, while the print job is handed over to third parties.
Currently, macOS apps that support Photos Projects are Mimeo Photos, Wix, GoodTimes, WhiteWall and Shutterfly.
