Amcor has achieved its global target of 10% recycled plastic usage for the 2025 fiscal year.

Amcor's recently released 2025 fiscal year sustainability report shows that the company has achieved its global target of using 10% post-consumer recycled plastics by 2025, with a reported amount of 218,000 tons of recycled plastics.
Amcor merged with Bery International in the first half of this year. The company's report provides detailed descriptions of progress on other environmental metrics. The report states that by the end of the 2025 fiscal year, 72% of the company's packaging (by weight) is designed to be recyclable, including 96% of rigid packaging, 49% of flexible packaging, and 100% of specialty paperboard packaging. In addition, Amcor's R&D department has developed recyclable options for 96% of its flexible packaging.

The report stated that since 2021, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from production have decreased by 20%, and by fiscal year 2025, the use of renewable electricity is expected to double, currently accounting for 30% of total energy consumption. Amcor Chief Sustainability Officer David Clark said: "Our progress shows that we can achieve our ambitious goals through innovation, collaboration, and advocacy across the entire value chain." The report highlights the development of recyclable products and product portfolios. Amcor has expanded the application range of its AmFiber paper-based packaging series, including instant coffee sachets and energy bars. Am-Prima (offering recyclable mono-material packaging) and Am-Lite HeatFlex (focusing on high-temperature cooking packaging) have launched new solutions that provide recyclable technologies for demanding flexible packaging applications. Additionally, the company has introduced Am-sky Blister in the pharmaceutical sector, offering recyclable blister product solutions, and in October launched AmSecure, a PET material for thermoformed trays and rolls for pharmaceutical and medical use.
