A small town in Haiyan, Zhejiang, astonishingly has nearly 300 printing companies.
In the printing industry of East China, there is a saying, 'In the south there is Longgang, in the north there is Henggang.' Longgang refers to Longgang City in Wenzhou; Henggang refers to Henggang Village in Baibu Economic Development Zone (Baibu Town), Haiyan. Both places are famous for their creative printing industries.

In recent years, Baibu's printing industry has been shifting from the previous 'small, low-end, scattered' model to 'large, tall, strong', with the industry scale growing increasingly larger, creative products becoming popular, and overseas market share rising steadily, gradually carving out a path of transformation and development unique to itself.
Currently, Baibu town has nearly 300 printing enterprises, forming a complete industrial chain from ink, paper, plate-making, printing, lamination, to transportation. Among them, there are 11 above-scale enterprises, one enterprise with revenue exceeding 100 million yuan, and one specialized and innovative small-to-medium-sized enterprise. In 2024, the above-scale enterprises achieved an output value of 535 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.7%.
"The printing industry is an important pillar of Baibu. In recent years, we have actively guided enterprises to implement green transformation, widely carried out industry-university-research cooperation with various universities, and while encouraging enterprises to actively seek orders and expand markets, we have also vigorously attracted printing enterprises different from local ones, injecting new vitality into the development of the traditional printing industry," said Yao Chenxue, Deputy Mayor of Baibu Economic Development Zone (Baibu Town).
