The use of UV inks or UV coatings may cause the general printing ink roller, blanket or resin plate to be swollen. In the more serious cases, peeling or surface cracking may occur, so it is very good to choose the appropriate or specified UV special blanket and resin plate. important.
Many U.V. ink suppliers recommend a standard, such as a blanket with nitrification or butyl nitration to match oily, U.V. ink or varnish. Natural rubber and polymeric ethane materials are not suitable for U.V. inks and varnishes.
The EPDM-coated blanket is suitable for U.V. inks and varnishes, but not for general Oil-based inks. EPDM blankets cannot use petroleum-refined lotions and should be purchased with special lotions. The principle of choosing the ink roller of the printing press is that the U.V. ink and the general oily ink cannot be changed frequently, and all residual chemicals must be removed if necessary.
The U.V. lamp and intensity are sufficient to completely dry the U.V. ink or varnish of the print, depending on the printing speed, ink film thickness and ink color. To install the U.V. lamp, install the appropriate U.V lamp in consideration of the type of printing press and the finished product.
BASF uses the appropriate "industrial medium pressure mercury lamp" or "microwave H bulb" for U.V. ink and varnish design. If the first monochromatic color is cyan, the thickness of the printed ink film (1.20-1.40 g/m2) at a speed of 100 m/min, two medium-pressure mercury bulbs of 120 W/cm should be used. If the color density is high and the darker color is printed on one or two overlapping colors, the overall drying difficulty is increased, which is caused by the U.V light being quickly absorbed by the dark ink. Generally, the difficulty of drying the four-color U.V. ink is in the order of magenta, yellow, cyan, and black. Therefore, the order of U.V. color printing should be black, cyan, yellow, magenta. The opaque color is also very difficult, it reflects the U.V. light back. Metallic, gold, and silver have the same problem.
Too old lamps can't dry U.V ink or varnish and cause printing difficulties. U.V lamps must be replaced after 1,000 hours of use. If you feel that you cannot dry the print at normal printing speed, you must consider replacing the U.V bulb to avoid affecting the printing operation.
About 80% of the U.V. light that is not attached to the reflector will not act on the printed matter due to the diffusion, so the U.V. lamp must be reflected by the lampshade to focus on the printed matter.
The reflector must be clean and in a timely manner to maintain its best function. Some paper dust or dusting dust adheres to the reflector, which will affect the U.V lamp reflection. When the U.V lamp is not used, the U.V lamp cover should be closed.
