Screen DT-R1030AI scanner is a low-end roller scanner. Because of its good performance and price, it has a wide market in China and is loved by some publishers, design studios and output centers.

The DT-R1030AI can scan originals with a size of 254×305mm and a scanning accuracy of 5200DPI, which can scan originals such as positives, negatives, photos and prints. However, the conversion of the scanner through and the reflected light source requires manual operation by the operator. The conversion step is: press and hold the left arrow key in the control panel to move the scan head out, and there is a movable part below the scanning light source, and move it to the marked position to indicate that the scanned original is scanned and moved to the standard. Some locations indicate that the scanned original is scanned. The focal length adjustment of the DT-R1030AI scanner was also performed manually by the operator. There is a small hole above the scanning head, you can see a magnified image of the right side of the drum, and there is a knob next to it. Move the roller to the position of the original to be adjusted (preferably find a point on the original that is easier to observe the focal length), then adjust the knob and observe the change in the sharpness of the original from the small hole to find the most realistic Just click. When scanning printed matter, the focal length can be appropriately imaginary, but it is not recommended to use this method to remove the net, because the degree of imaginary is not well controlled.

After the DT-R1030AI scanner is turned on every day, you need to do the following two tasks before scanning: First, make white balance. The white balance of the transmissive manuscript and the reflective manuscript needs to be separately made. The white balance of the transmissive manuscript needs to align the scanning head with a clean place on the drum, and then press the FNC+CAL button on the control panel at the same time, the machine starts to automatically correct; It is necessary to put a blank sheet of paper on the drum (the whiteness of the paper will directly affect the color of the scanned image), and then align the scanning head with the white paper as described above. The work of white balance is very important, it will directly affect whether the image after scanning is color cast, so when doing it, you should carefully select the point. In addition, the drum cannot be moved during the white balance process. Second, select the scanning starting point. Move the scan head to the upper right corner of the original to be scanned, and then press the CAL key on the control panel to confirm. Pay attention when attaching the original, try to attach the original to the left side of the roller, so that when there are not many originals, the range of pre-scanning is small, and it is not necessary to scan the entire roller, saving time. After completing these tasks, press the “Online” button. When the display shows “Online”, the scanner is connected to the computer and you can start pre-scanning.

Since the screen DT-R1030AI scanner is available earlier, the software installation disk that comes with it is a small floppy disk. Small floppy disks are vulnerable, and users should use one of their other storage devices. Software installation disks include: Scan Driver, Plug-in, Updata, AI (including RGB, CMYK, and negative), Negative Scan, ICR, Color Data (including RGB, CMYK, and negative). The Updata disk is used for scanner system upgrades and is not required when installing software. Negative scan, ICR, and Color Data are optional features.

The installation of the DT-R1030AI software is a bit special, unlike the general software installation. When installing, first put the scan driver disk into the computer, and click INSTALL to install it. After installation, find the installed folder in the machine, there is a file in the folder: Option, click to display an installation menu, including AI, negative scan, ICR, Color Data installation, which one to install Click on which function to click, and then insert the floppy disk into the machine as prompted. It is not possible to insert these disks directly into the machine.

Once the software is installed, you can start scanning. Click on the installed software to enter, you can see the interface below.

In the interface, Resolution indicates the scanning accuracy, and this can also be changed to set the magnification; Mode indicates the scanning mode, generally the color manuscript is set to CMYK mode; Desity is the density, Highlights indicates the density of the highlight, and Shadow indicates the density of the dark tone. Nega Color means negative film, not selected as scanning film; Reflection means scanning reflection, not scanning scanning, note that this selection should be consistent with the scanning light source selected in the machine; AI Channel means AI channel, four of them Items (standard, maintain original tone, correct color shift and highlight highlights, the operator can choose according to the original); the bottom few buttons are: Scan, Prescan, AI Settings (AI Setup) and Pre Display (Preview).

There are two adjustments to the newly installed software. First select the Scanner Setup item under the Preference menu, and the following interface appears.

SCSI Address is the SCSI ID number of the scanner. It will be displayed here after connecting the scanner. The screen scanner usually has a SCSI ID of 6 at the factory; Dot 100% and Dot 0% indicate the tone of the dot; Transfer Speed is SCSI transmission speed, can input values, the impact is small; Productivity indicates the output, generally Standard (standard) can be, too high scanning speed is fast, but the scanning quality is not good; Scanning Speed is the scanning speed, set to Standard (standard ); Total Ink Amount is the total amount of ink, generally set at 350%, depending on the printing conditions of each printing house.

Then select the Driver Setup item under the Preference menu.

Resolution Setup accuracy setting, this control shows the accuracy display in Figure 1. You can adjust this so that you only need to input the scanning magnification in Figure 1, no need to input the scanning accuracy; Printer Resolution printer accuracy, this means that in the original The accuracy of large scanning, after setting this item, you only need to input the magnification. The scanner can calculate the scanning precision required at this magnification according to the magnification. The operator has the trouble of calculating the accuracy. Generally, it is set as 350DPI can be; Trimming Setup cutting settings; Sampling Setup sampling settings, generally Average (average); Temporary Drive temporary hard disk, select the boot disk, unless there is a faster hard disk to store temporary files; After the Save Preview Icon item below is selected, an image logo is displayed when the image is saved.

After the two settings, open the AI Channel, Nega Color, Color Control under the Option menu, click the “Prescan” button to start pre-scan, then select the main area in the image, and select AI Channel, point AI Setup Press the button to complete the AI settings. This process is very important throughout the scanning process. When doing AI settings, the scanner will determine a scan curve based on the highlight, dark and midtone information in the selected area. The selected area is different, and the gradation information inside. It is also different, then there is a certain difference in the scan curve, and the color and tone of the scanned image will be different. Click the “Preview” button to view the predicted image. Use the eyedropper tool to find out the percentage of the dots in each main part. If you need to modify the problem, you can use the Color Setup setting under the Window menu to modify it.

HD and SD are the density of highlight and shadow, which has been determined when doing AI. It does not need to be modified here. The following items are the percentage of highlights, the percentage of dark dots, and the percentage of midtones. Check the three parts of the image. , adjust the value according to the situation of the outlet. The percentage of intermediate adjustment points is mainly determined by adding or subtracting the value of the network points according to the situation of the intermediate color version. Several scan curves are given in the Tone Curve, which are divided into four categories: Linear (10% brighter in the midtones, suitable for color newspaper printing or improved boring originals), Light (lightning 5% in the middle section) , for reflective originals), Medium (moderate curve, suitable for transmissive originals), Heavy (5% reduction in the middle adjustment part, generally not used, can be used for high-quality printing, color has depth), and in various types, Divided into four types, the curve marked with 3+ is the reference curve, the curve marked with 2+, 1+ is 5% and 10% for brightening, and 5% and 10% for darkening, with 4+ The curve is lighter and darker by 5%, the middle and darker is brighter by 5%, and the curve is increased from 1+ to 4+. The slope of the highlight is increased, and the details are easier to distinguish, but the original particles are noticeable. Sharpness is sharpened, and the choice of sharpening depends on the original. In the Color item, there is a standard, achromatic structure, an emphasis on the C version, an emphasis on the M version, and an emphasis on the Y version, but it is basically not used when scanning.

After the modification is completed, click the “Preview” button again to view the modification, and then modify and view it until you are satisfied. You can click the “Scan” button to scan and save, so that you can complete the scanning process of an original.

The DT-R1030AI scanner does not have a fine-grained adjustment, so some of its work must be done in conjunction with the PHOTOSHOP software to get a better image.
