In recent years, with the development of keyboard manufacturing technology, some new printing technologies have appeared. The following three types to be introduced by Anmei Mall are typical representatives of the new generation of keyboard printing technology. Their common feature is to solve the problem of balance between firmness and aesthetics in keyboard printing. But the price paid is that the three new printing technologies are more complex and costly than the three traditional printing methods.

Laser filler technology

This technology-printed keyboard is now on the market and has become more common, especially in black keyboards that are traditionally not suitable for laser printing. Its principle is a bit like "tattoo."

Tattooing is to use a needle to trace the fine lines on the skin, and then use pigment to fill it, so that the color will penetrate into the skin's texture and will not be washed or worn away by water. The same is true for laser filler technology.

A keyboard made with laser filler technology, first printed with laser printing (but lighter than usual laser printing to keep the surface flat), and then used stencil printing for secondary printing, so that the cured ink will The indentation left by the laser is left in it and will not be easily removed afterwards.

The keyboard printed by the laser filler technology has made up for the defects of laser printing fonts and the inability to print colors because of the secondary printing of the ink, and the solidity of the laser printing is much higher than that of the laser marking. Simple ink printing.

For secondary printing, whether it is using silk screen or pad printing, there is no straight rule. However, in terms of the characteristics of the laser filler method, the pad printing seems to be more in line with the characteristics of the ink required (although it is ink printing, the ink characteristics of the screen and pad printing are different. The screen printing uses a tape. High-permeability UV inks with UV-curable dry coatings, and pad printing with special inks for printing with hardeners).

Sublimation printing

The keyboard using the sublimation printing method is only the brand RealForce that we introduced shortly.

Sublimation printing is a printing method that is quite different from ordinary ink printing. It uses not a common liquid pigment ink, but a solid resin ink. The ink sublimes into a gaseous state at a high temperature, and condenses in a gas molecular state after penetrating into the surface of the permeable printed matter. Thereby being integrated with the printed surface on a physical level, and not just "sticking" to the printed surface like ordinary pigment inks. Therefore, the printing is extremely strong. Moreover, resin inks are superior in terms of gloss and form. The most common type of sublimation printing is the service of the ceramic cup "baked" photo.

When sublimation printing is used for keyboard printing, the ink will completely "infiltrate" the inner layer of the ABS plastic of the button, so it is almost impossible to be worn off, and the text of the sublimation printing is very three-dimensional and glossy. But the process of sublimation printing is much more complicated than ordinary pigment ink printing. Therefore, in addition to the high price, regardless of the cost of the RealForce keyboard, it seems that I have not heard how others have used such printing methods.

Hollow text method

This type of printing has so far only been used by Apple computers on their notebook keyboards. But in fact, this printing method is not uncommon, because although there are very few users on the computer keyboard, the other keyboard - the mobile phone keyboard is almost all printed in this way.

It is very simple to say, this printing method is to use a transparent material to make the button, and then cover the surface of the button with opaque paint, and then hollowed out into "ghost" on the surface according to the appearance of the text. If the paint is applied to the inside of the button without touching the side of the finger, the text will naturally never wear out. In fact, Apple's use of this printing method seems to be the main purpose not to write firmly, or because of the beauty first. Because this type of hollowed out font is "engraved", it is more clear and clear than the stencil. And like the mobile phone keyboard, the backlight circuit can be installed under the button of the hollow text, so that the notebook keyboard has the same backlight effect as the mobile phone keyboard. However, the defects of the hollow text method are also obvious. When the transparent material is used to manufacture the keyboard, its elasticity, hardness and wear resistance are inferior to those of the ordinary keycap material. In fact, whether it is printed with hollow text or not, the transparent keycap material has not been a touch of traditional black and white ABS plastic. This is also a no-brainer.
