Professor Xie Wei, the head of the Department of Graphic Communication, Taiwan University of the Arts, completed the lectures of Wuhan University in late August and visited Hong Kong. He exchanged ideas with the industry and the industry on the use of digital technology in the cultural and creative industries. The project in Taiwan gave us a detailed introduction. Professor Xie Tao has devoted himself to the research of cultural and creative industries and digital printing in recent years. He also gave a speech at the international level. This article tries to share the following:
Value-added application of digital content in cultural and creative industries
First of all, the national collections and cultural relics with historical and cultural values are mostly available for people to appreciate, but there are also a few that are difficult to publicly view for public reasons. In addition, there are some crises that have gone through the color and distorted due to the public display over the years. In response to the maturity of the current digital technology, Professor Xie applied it to the collection of cultural relics. The process is as shown on the right:
In addition to helping preserve and preserve the original appearance of cultural relics, digital technology provides a complete cultural database and provides educational, learning, research and other materials and materials, as well as other value-added applications. For example, the collection of cultural relics such as text, images, films and audio products can be used for leisure, cultural life, marketing and other purposes. Of course, the process involves the issue of authorization to the industry. It is also like the use of digital technology for multicultural use. It can be used for authorization, etc., and the proceeds can be used for maintenance, maintenance and conservation. Professor Xie said this is There is a win-win situation or a win-win situation. He also shared some examples, as shown in the following figure.
Of course, in the course of development, there will be many problems that require time and patience to solve. For example, whether the owners of cultural relics represent the right to publish, and whether the government is open to such proposals.
Before the lunch sharing session, the Association specially invited Professor Xie Wei to make a visit. We had an in-depth discussion on the education and training of the industry. There are currently four colleges and universities in Taiwan with print education courses, including Taiwan University of the Arts, Taiwan Normal University, Chinese Culture University and Shih Hsin University. Professor Xie, for example, teaches the Department of Graphic Communication Arts at the Taiwan University of the Arts. He refers to the Department of Graphic and Communication Arts, which includes print education. This department was established in 1955 and is the first three departments of the school. One of the departments is rich in resources for printing, and the curriculum is designed to cater to the needs of students, including photography, design, printing, publishing and management. Professor Xie specifically mentioned that the management courses will be included in all grades of the course, so that students can be qualified to be senior managers after graduation.
Professor Xie has designed the content of the course. The school invited a 30-member industry advisory committee to evaluate and give advice on the design of the course. In addition, some alumni were asked to give advice on the course design based on their personal experience. After the revision, it was sent to the Ministry of Education, which shows that the design of the entire course is very rigorous.
The Hong Kong industry has been plagued with management talent problems more than 10 years ago. There are still no university degree courses in printing in Hong Kong. Many Hong Kong people have to go to other places to study the courses. Therefore, they have to go to the Taiwan University of the Arts. Reading related courses is also not a good channel.
Professor Xie also believes that the quality of Hong Kong printing is very good, that is, lack of relevant education and future development. He believes that as long as education is done well, the industry's identity will be improved. He also believes that printing is full of business opportunities, and everyone hopes that everyone will contribute to printing education.
