Different papers have great differences in performance and use, and the requirements for appearance are also different. Moreover, there are differences in the papermaking conditions and the ratio of raw materials for different paper machines. Therefore, the inspection of the appearance of the paper is carried out by the actual paper and the standards negotiated by both parties, and the papers that do not meet the requirements are inspected. It is called paper with appearance paper disease.
Types of Appearance Paper Diseases: Appearance paper diseases are mainly named after the appearance characteristics of the paper surface and the paper pattern, and are also named after the common papermaking defects of paper. The more common paper diseases are: air knife streaks, calendering streaks, coating roller streaks, cardboard warping, burrs, pits, spots, embossing, folding, scraping strips, etc.
Inspection method of appearance paper disease: inspection of appearance paper disease, except for the need to rely on the instrument, it is generally identified by the senses. The inspection methods mainly include the following:
The illuminating inspection method: the cardboard is taken care of the light source, and the surface of the paper is observed with the naked eye;
Look at the inspection method: place the paper on a flat or inclined surface, the light is irradiated from above, the eyes are about 30cm away from the surface of the paper, and the eyes are inspected against the paper surface;
Oblique inspection method: On the basis of the flat inspection method, use one hand to raise one side of the paper and observe from different angles to check;
Hand touch inspection method: For paper diseases that are not easily found by the naked eye, such as fine sand on the surface of paper, it is necessary to check the surface of the paperboard by hand to check, and at the same time, the flatness of the paperboard can also determine the severity of the paper disease;
Hearing test: Hold one side of the paper by hand, shake it back and forth, and listen to the degree of sound. This is mainly to check the "body" of the paper and to determine the severity of the paper disease.
In addition, you can tear the paper, observe the core of the paper, or cut the paper to be printed, and cut a piece of A4 size. Overlap the paper with the same weight of A4 size paper, and then pinch the end. To see if the two sheets of paper are separated, if there is a clear separation, it means that the paper and the paper sample may have a big difference in quality.
Generally speaking, the judgment of the appearance of paper disease is mainly based on the factors of printing or use. If there is a slight paper disease, but it has little effect on printing or use, the paper can still be used if the two sides understand the situation.
However, if the paper disease is obvious and has a great influence on printing and use, such paper is still good for return. This can avoid losses and reduce many unnecessary business disputes.
