Newspaper printing Due to the different conditions of printing machinery, printing paper and ink, there will be some differences between the prepress printing and the prepress processing methods of general commercial printing. Here, we discuss according to some characteristics of newspaper printing. Take a look at some of the issues in the prepress printing of the newspaper and make some suggestions for your reference.
1. Black and white field setting during scanning
Most newspaper printing uses newsprint and rotary printing. The minimum dot size that can be reproduced is 6%-8%. Therefore, when scanning, the percentage of dots in each color version of the highlights cannot be less than 6%. If the dots are too small, the highlights will be caused. The small network is lost and the network appears. Due to the special nature of newspaper printing, it is necessary to pay attention to the total amount of ink in the plate making. The total amount of four-color ink should be between 270% and 300%, and the maximum amount of black ink can be set between 90% and 95%. And the amount of background color removal can be appropriately increased to reduce the thickness of the ink layer.
2. Control when outputting a film
The output accuracy of general newspapers is 85LPI-120LPI, and the dot angle is not much different from ordinary offset printing. Generally, it is green: 15° (or 75°), magenta plate: 75° (or 15°), yellow plate: 0°, Black version: 45°, or adjust the dot angle according to the main color version. For the requirements of the solid density of the film, generally 3.5 or more, some newspapers only need 3.2 or more, and the fog of the film should be controlled below 0.08.
3. Imposition
With the development of electronic technology, the imposition work can now be done by computer software, and then output using an imagesetter or CTP. The layout format of the newspaper is basically fixed. Therefore, it is only necessary to create a template in the computer, and determine the position of the page size, the size of the core, the head, the foot, the fold line, the cut, etc., and the page content of each page is fixed. The information required for printing can be added (such as cross lines, corner lines, color marks, etc.), and this template can be applied to each layout in the future. The work of hand-stamping is now very rare. However, it should be noted that some advertisers provide original four-color images. There are two ways to solve this problem. One is to use a dot copy scanner to scan the film into an electronic file and then use it in a computer. Combined with other content in the layout, this method has high registration accuracy and can be directly published by CTP. There is no indirect seam in the printing version, no need to repair the version; another method is to manually put two sets of film together. This method has low registration accuracy, and it is easy to lose the pasted film. It needs to be revised after printing. If possible, the first method is recommended.
4. Printing
When printing newspapers, pay attention to the use of Brunel print control strips to control the printing plate, with 0.5%-5% fine dot area and micron line control, it is required to reproduce 3%-5% of the dots, 97% --98%0 outlets do not die. This way, the image tone is restored. Use customer-supplied film to make a manual imposition, and then when printing, you need to pay attention to it. Some advertising companies produce laser printing film. The density of laser printing film is smaller than that of film. First, it cannot be overlapped when imposition, otherwise it will be easy to cause when printing. Inspiratory is not true, resulting in the picture is imaginary; second, the density of the printed film is not the same as the density of the film, the exposure time is different when printing, the film density is large, the printing time is longer, the printing film density is small, The printing time should be shortened accordingly. In principle, the text is required to be clear after printing, and there is no shortage of pen and painting, and the pen is full.
5. Bake version
The baking plate is to improve the printing durability of the printing plate. The printing volume of newspapers is relatively large. If the printing plate has a high printing durability, the number of times of loading and unloading can be reduced, time is saved, waste is reduced, production cost is saved, and control of ink color is also beneficial. The baking temperature is generally around 200-220 ° C, and the baking time is 10-15 minutes.
6. Development
The daily prints of the newspapers are different, so the consumption of the developer is very large. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the change of the developer concentration. According to the developed film or the plate, the state of the puncher can be adjusted in time, or replaced. The liquid medicine guarantees the quality of the newspaper.
7.CTP
Now that CTP technology is becoming more and more mature, it simplifies some of the process of plate making, shortens the plate making time, improves the precision, reduces the loss of the dot due to the numerous processes, makes the dot reproduction better, and the plate is more tidy. CTP technology has been adopted by many newspapers in newspaper printing. Among various types of CTP equipment, the violet laser CTP equipment has stable light source, long laser life and low price. The reproduction range of the dot can reach 1%-99%, and the price of the plate is low. Now the thermal type promoted by major CTP manufacturers CTP equipment can be operated in the bright room, the exposure latitude is large, the resolution is very high, but the speed is slower, the newspaper can choose according to their own needs. While the newspaper chooses CTP equipment, it also needs to carefully select a good digital process, and pay attention to the connection of each link, so that CTP can exert its strengths.
