The linearization of the film of the laser imagesetter refers to adjusting the dot curve on the RIP according to the different characteristics of various types of film and developing liquid to faithfully reflect the dot size of the original. Printing requires faithful restoration of the original, which requires accurate restoration of the dots. Due to the sensitivity, density, latitude of various films, the degree of reflection with various chemical solutions, development time, temperature and other factors, the degree of reduction of dots of various films is also different, so it is necessary to adjust the dot curve. When doing film linearization, you need to pay attention to the following issues:


  1. First check if the photosensitive wavelength of the film used is the same as that of the laser imagesetter.


  2. Before the linearization of the film, it is necessary to ensure that the state of the filming machine is normal, that is, the fixing solution is fixed, the concentration of the liquid is correct, the fixing time and the temperature are fixed, and the film linearization can be performed in the second case.


  3. Also check whether the solid density of the image is suitable for printing before the film is linearized. In general, coated paper printing requires a solid density of 4.0 or more, and newspaper printing requires a solid density of 3.4 or more. Therefore, the light value of the imagesetter must be adjusted to achieve the required density.


  4. When adjusting the density value, the higher the density, the better. The density is too high, which will cause the linear deviation to be too far. Taking the screen 3050 photo-setting machine as an example, the Konica film density is generally adjusted to be between 4.0 and 4.2. After 4.2, the dot should be 50% higher than 60%, and then linearized adjustment. not good. When the density is appropriate, the actual value of the dot should be 50%, preferably 50%-56%.


  5. The concentration of the liquid medicine in the filming machine changes every day, which will affect the reduction of the dot. Therefore, for high-demand prints, the film should be linearized every day, and for the conditional output center, the film should be linearized every day.


  6. To change the liquid or replace the film, you must re-linearize the film.
