On March 26th, the Graphic Arts Society held a seminar entitled "Seven Color Printing and Latest Network Development". This seminar invited Mr. Marc De Mey from Artwork Systems in Europe to introduce two kinds of company development. The latest technology - "Equinox seven-color separation system" and "Paragon, Organic, Concentric network technology", and real-time translation and explanation by Kenny Chan, Asia-Pacific market business manager.
New concept of multicolor printing
Equinox is a seven-color separation system that uses a unique color calculation program to fit their process system to expand the print gamut. Why use seven colors? They think that the color gamut produced by CMY in general four-color printing is too thin, so the addition of orange, green, and purple blue expands the color gamut. This system uses the working principle of ICC Profile, and the standard 4-color test target ECI 2002 (including 1485 color blocks), and the addition of orange, green and blue to form a total of 5940 color block combinations.
Two of the very good features of this software are the multi-color simulation of spot colors, taking into account the simplicity of the dot combination, making printing more stable. Another function is to add other three colors according to the image. For example, when adding orange, you can control the human body without the orange color; the grass part is green, the purple flower is purple blue and the sky blue is not.
The Equinox Expanded Gamut Separation System includes two sets of ArtPro plug-ins, Nexus or Odystar plug-ins (site licenses) and PhotoShop plug-ins. The initial price is 65,000 Euros.
Unusual dot technology
Paragon, Organic, and Concentric are used in conjunction with Artwork Systems' Nexus and Odystar process systems. Paragon AM's unique rosette – lockTM mesh technology makes it visually smoother. In addition, Paragon AM also uses the precision dot placement and frequency shifting technology to remove the collision net generated by the red and yellow version of the 15 degree angle. Paragon AM dot shapes include Round, Euclidean, Eillptical, and Diamond.
Organic is a FM dot technology that uses a second arrangement to make it visually smoother. Organic contains variable micro dot size for a more detailed image. It is also possible to use a fixed micro dot to make the printing more stable. This kind of dot not only makes the image more detailed, but also improves the chroma. Organic dots are available in 10, 20, 25 and 30 micron sizes.
Concentric is a hybrid design network technology for AM and FM networks. It also has the advantages of fine FM points and smooth AM points. People's vision will be smoother to the regular arrangement of the netting, and even the best FM net design will have a less smooth feel on the flat mesh or smooth flesh-colored parts. Therefore, the Concentric network point basically adopts the arrangement of the AM network, but uses the concentric circle method to change the composition of the network point to be more detailed.
