Some friends always feel that there is insufficient contrast, lack of clarity, and color cast when scanning images. These may be caused by poorly set scans in black and white.

In general, the so-called "highlight point" should be: The brightest point in the image that begins to appear in the brightest level, but not the most brightest "very high spot". The "dark tone point" is generally the end point of the image dark level, but it is not the darkest point.

The printing of copperplate paper requires that the bright tone cannot be in the place where the net is not available (that is, the four-color dots are all 0). Therefore, be careful when selecting the area with high light. The setting values of the four highlights of the brightest point are: C5, M3, Y3, K0. Or you can light it up again: C4, M2, Y2, K0. If the original is too bright or too dark, the set value can be changed, but it should be ensured that the value scanned by the brightest point is basically the above value, and no net phenomenon can occur. . The setting of the black field should pay attention to the total amount of ink in the ordinary offset printing is 320-360. Too thin will result in the color of the printed image being unsaturated and the color is not bright, and the dark version of the C version must be larger than the M version and the Y version. The K version can't be less than 80, otherwise the phenomenon of color cast and dark tone will appear gray. The general setting values are: C90, M85, Y85, K80. If the printing factory has good conditions and the printing requirements are high, then it can be done: C95 , M90, Y90, K85, such prints are well contrasted and rich in layers.

Newspaper printing is a rotary printing machine with fast speed and short ink drying time. Therefore, the ink should not be too thick during the copying process. The total dot area ratio of the four-color printing should be limited. At the same time, a larger proportion of gray components should be used instead. . According to the characteristics of newspapers, the minimum dot area that can be completely transmitted to newsprint is between 6% and 8%. When selecting a highlight point, the area of the highlight point of the image that starts to appear brightly level should not fall below this range, otherwise the transmission of the high-gloss dot will be incomplete or completely lost, so that the original bright layer of the image becomes white. Extremely high light of paper. The dark spot can not be like ordinary offset printing, the total amount of ink can only be 270 ~ 300, so it can be set to: C60 ~ 65, M50 ~ 55, Y50 ~ 55, K90 ~ 95.
