Recently, when we talked to friends in the output center, we talked about some things in our normal work. Some of the problems that have been solved very simply in production and in the middle of the film have caused strange mistakes. These things can be avoided as long as our production staff has some understanding of the output printing process.
Like a magazine's manuscript, due to some problems in the production process, after an output center was opened, it was sent to RIP and found missing characters in the file, but the output staff could not check the problem. Finally, the magazine believes that this is because the output center uses pirated words. After that, they took the manuscript to the output of the new generation output center, and the same problem occurred. Fortunately, the technical level here is relatively high. After careful examination, it was found that several "implicit spaces" in the file were not deleted. After deleting the space, there is no such problem after the film is released. This very simple problem for production made the output center look bad, and let the people in the magazine run around, but also delayed the time, and almost missed the date of publication. The output center is very helpless, but we feel that if the file is out of order, the biggest loss is still designed here. It’s a small matter to delay time, but if there is any mistake, it will not be discovered until the final prints come out. There are many similar simple problems like this...
We have collected some precautions that have been made in various software. Please let the professionals in the output center tell us the specific points of attention in these production processes. Listen to the professionals right! ~
General considerations
1. Mac users should not use system fonts such as Beijing, Song, FangSong, Hei, Kai, etc. If they are used, they will not be able to output or output garbled characters.
2, the picture should not make RGB pictures, such as the use of the output is not correct (may be grayscale or other non-customer desired color).
3, if the customer uses more English fonts, especially for some less commonly used textbooks, please copy them into the disc when you are out, to facilitate output.
Freehand3.1
1. When the Chinese character distance is negative, it is easy to cause text to be stacked.
2, the correct use of the "fill and stroke" function, easy to lead to "sticky words." If the width is wider, you can press the same word with no effect (Apple +=, select effect=none), and use "fill and storke" to imprint the text.
Take a look at the "overprivt" option.
3, freehand in the gradient, the output precision in the document should be changed to 2400dpi, so that the gradient will be better.
4. "Tianan-Pattern" is a kind of bitmap which is filled. After output, its color is solid and cannot be added. For example, the file is set to light green of C10Y10, the screen display is normal, but the output is dark green of C100Y100.
5, TIFF maps beyond a certain megabyte can not be placed into Freehand3.1, the map will be spent.
6. After placing a TIFF or EPS image in Freehand 3.1, the format of the image has changed (such as TIFF changed to EPS or EPS changed to TIFF), and the Freehand file may not be opened.
7, if the placed map has changed a Photoshop PSD map, the Freehand file will not report the missing map when opened, but the output map does not.
8, Freehand3.1 can not automatically update the image link, so the map has been placed after the size has changed, Freehand can not see the change. But after opening the file to the output center, the size of the image changes. Therefore, after the map has been changed, it should be relocated in Freehand.
Freehand8.0 9.0
1. In Freehand 8.0, the effect of "transparent" is not completely the effect of the screen display, but the effect of the bottom country filtered by transparent color, which needs to be used with care.
2. When black text is input in Freehand 8.0, the black filled in the text is usually automatically selected after the “imprint” is converted into a curve and then black imprinted. However, when it is filled in color, the imprint option is still Selected, so the color words are also embossed, on the basis of all the special effects are also embossed. The average producer will not notice this. When the output is required, the imprint effect is displayed on the screen and checked carefully. Use the backend separation to avoid this problem.
3, Freehand has a tool to cut the picture, can not be used, the graphic image will be restored after re-linking (automatic update).
PageMaker6.0 6.5
1. In addition to the 'italic body', the Chinese character effect is easy to make mistakes. In particular, the 'underline' and 'hollow effect' can not be correctly achieved: 'Bold' will cause paste, 'Hollow effect' font will not be hollowed out, and the Chinese character will be crossed with the word 'underlined' (the square line will be inserted into the word) Fonts can be 'underlined').
2. In the text effect dialog box, the value of the word spacing should not be too small, otherwise it will cause a double word phenomenon.
3. If you use a composite font, please bring the composite font file together when outputting to prevent the font from being inconsistent with the content.
4. Avoid aligning text with spaces. Use the ‘Tab’ key and adjust the position in ‘Indent, Tab Stop’.
5, in Pagemaker6.0, if the gray text is set by the default black percentage, it will sometimes be imprinted. You should redefine a gray color or a percentage of the black with a new definition.
6. Ensure that all images have links. Images without link information can only be output at 72dpi.
7. When the PageMaker file is opened, the map will be automatically linked in this folder first. If different images with the same name are entered in different folders, the map may be wrongly linked when the file is opened.
8. If the linked image is changed, the newly generated file size may be different from the original size, so that the image may be distorted after re-linking. 9. Avoid copying images or graphics directly from other production software into PageMaker. Use the 'Place' command to place graphic images. Directly copied graphic images cannot be separated and output.
10. When a large TIFF image or a very high precision TIFF image is placed in PageMaker, the output image will be doubled as a horizontal image, and can be saved as an EPS placement.
11. After placing the EPS image, avoid filling the EPS image. Otherwise, the color will be output or output according to the color you have filled.
12. The EPS image placed in PageMaker cannot be a JPEG-compressed EPS image, otherwise it will be a gray block after output.
13. When using the EPS image output by Freehand or Illustrator,
Attention
A, transfer the special font in Freehand or Illustrator, otherwise it will be garbled;
B. There are four color maps in Freehand. When exporting, select CMYK format and select to include images.
C, Freehand can not use the default black, you should reset a black;
D, Freehand or Illustrator map should be embossed text or lines should be set to emboss;
E, Illustrator hidden things, after generating EPS, PageMaker will output it.
14, objects completely outside the page can not be output, a part of it must enter the page to be output.
15. When placing a grayscale TIFF image in Freehand, you can change the nature of the image in (Apple+I) and turn it into a bottom-through image. However, after generating the EPS map, after placing the PageMaker file, the original grayscale image (with white background) will still be linked when output. You can only change the original grayscale TIFF image to black and white. After replacing it in Freehand, regenerate the EPS image and replace it in PageMaker.
Quark
1. The white of the software itself has a problem. When it is output, it will turn black. When using it, you should reset a white color.
2. Objects that are completely outside the page cannot be output. You can put graphics, lines or file blocks on the page a little bit.
3, Quark automatically set "trapping", non-pure blackface characters will also be trapped on the color or image background, so if it is a relatively small font, it will be more obvious.
Illustrator
1. The graphics produced by the Illustrator software itself should be adjusted to 2400 points in the “Properties” dialog box. Otherwise, the graph will appear as a polygon (ie not delicate and ribbed).
2. If a gradient is used in Illustrator, check the following options:
Chinese version: "File" - "Document Settings" - "Compatible with Gradual and Progressive Network Printing"
English version: "file" - "Document" - "Compatible Gradient and Gradient Mesh Printing"
3, Illustrator output for EPS files, black text, graphics should be selected black emboss.
4, Illustrator has the function of converting RGB images to CMYK, but the color effect is extremely poor and cannot be used.
5, Illustrator9 has the option of transparency 'Transparency', when output or generate EPS should be set to ‘print/expect’.
CorelDraw
1. The map placed in CorelDraw may output a broken image or image defect if rotated.
2. The object selected by ‘overprint fill color will be imprinted.
3. When there is a Chinese full-width space in the text (double the size of a normal space), the output error should be replaced with a half-width space.
4. When the Chinese character is selected in English, the display is gone, and the output is incorrect.
5, art text can generally turn the curve, the change is not big. Text words cannot be turned directly into curves. When a text font is converted to an art text, some of the characteristics of the text text are gone, and the text style changes greatly.
6, the virtual shadow directly produced in CorelDraw8.0, can not be correctly output, please use 9.0 to make.
