The use of labels on hoses to enhance the value of product packaging has become a highlight of daily packaging. It is usually done by using a front and rear label for partial decoration on both sides of the hose or a 360-degree wrap for the entire circumference of the hose. . People need to squeeze the hose when using the hose. At the same time, because the hose needs to be sealed after filling, and the shape of the hose tail is changed from cylindrical to linear after the hose is sealed, A large deformation is generated, and the stress on the surface of the hose due to the deformation is correspondingly easy to cause deformation and drumming at the position of the hose end. Therefore, the hose label needs to use special label materials, and puts strict requirements on the labeling process such as hose surface treatment, label shape design, label labeling position and labeling time.


1. Label selection


Due to the large deformation after the tube body is sealed, when the 360-degree wrap is used for the whole-week decoration, it is especially necessary to select a thin and soft label surface material to adapt to a certain degree of deformation, but the hose label tends to have a large area. It is also necessary to select a label face material with a certain degree of stiffness to meet the requirements of automatic labeling. The thinnest 250 series materials in the uniaxially stretched polyolefin film material of Avery are very suitable for the material selection of hose labels, and need to use special adhesive to match. The transparent Fasson Clear 250 film with forged gloss is compatible with the performance of most color hoses.


2. Hose surface treatment


The body of the hose is usually made of low-density polyethylene. Due to the low surface energy of the low-density polyethylene material, it is difficult for the adhesive to have a good bond with the surface of the hose. In order to improve the proper adhesion between the pipe body and the label, it is necessary to modify the surface of the hose to apply a surface coating on the tube body. At present, the coatings commonly used by hose companies are heat-curing varnish and UV-curing varnish. In the composition of varnish, the silicone oil and wax in varnish should be removed or reduced, and the conformity test of varnish and label material should be done well. And stabilize the formulation of varnish and coating process such as coating thickness and drying degree. In general, thermosetting varnishes are more suitable for UV-curable varnishes.


3. Label shape design


In order to avoid and disperse the stress generated by the deformation of the tube tail as much as possible, the four corners of the label near the tail of the tube can be designed to be larger than the curved opening of R5.


Labeling position requirements: In order to avoid and disperse the stress generated by the deformation of the tube tail as much as possible, the distance between the label and the nozzle should be greater than 10MM.


4. Sealing time


Since the adhesion between the self-adhesive label and the tube body needs to reach a relatively stable high-viscosity level after 24 hours, the sealing process should be carried out 24 hours after the tube body is labeled.
