First, the coding of the commodity barcode should be unique

In the product barcode application system, the difference in the price of goods and commodities is identified by different commodity codes. If two different goods are identified by the same code, the computer system treats it as the same product, causing errors in scanning settlement and management confusion.

Second, the amplification factor

The magnification factor actually refers to the size of the bar code of the product. If the bar code of the product is too large, it will occupy too much space for packaging or printing text, and it is not practical; if it is too small, it will easily cause difficulty in printing and reading. Therefore, the size of the barcode should be appropriate. According to the size of the outer packaging and the area allowed for printing, the magnification factor selected by the barcode on the outer packaging of the commodity should be in the range of 0.8-2.0. The general amplification factor should be 0.9- 1.2, for the 0.8-0.9 bar code symbol, the quality control is more difficult, should be carefully selected.

Third, the color matching

The empty color matching refers to whether the contrast between the color of the strip in the barcode and the color of the substrate conforms to the standard. The commodity barcode is identified by the special reading device by recognizing the brightness and width of the strip, so it is required that the contrast between the strip and the empty color is as large as possible. In general, white is the bottom, black strips are the most ideal and safe color match. Since the color itself can be changed a lot, you should master a principle when choosing the color matching of the strip: the empty color should be as bright as possible, the color should have no blue and black components, the strip color should be as deep as possible, and the color should contain blue or black components. .

Fourth, the printing position of the commodity barcode

The printing position of the product barcode should be based on the principle that the barcode symbol is not deformed and is easy to read. The greater the change in the position of the bar code on the merchandise package, the slower the bargainer looks for the bar code and settles through the scanner, and the lower the retail efficiency. Therefore, the printing position of the bar code should be standardized as much as possible. To facilitate scanning and settlement, the product barcode should normally be printed on the “natural” bottom surface of the outer packaging.

Fifth, the truncation of commodity barcodes

To the extent that the height of the bar code symbol is truncated, the scanning of the bar code will be affected. Therefore, the height of the bar code symbol is strictly not strictly truncated.

Sixth, left and right blank areas

The size of the left and right blank areas of the product barcode symbol should be sufficient to facilitate the correct reading of the scanning device. It should be ensured that there are no characters, graphics, perforations, scratches, etc. in the left and right blank areas of the product barcode, and the printing position of the product barcode should be far away from the edge of the outer packaging of the product to meet the requirements for the blank area of the barcode.

Seventh, bar code printing on corrugated paper

Printing barcodes directly on corrugated paper should pay attention to dimensional accuracy issues. Due to uneven force during printing, the bar code is bent and deformed. This problem is usually solved by printing a barcode on another carrier and then attaching it to the corrugated packaging.
