Paper is closely related to production and life. For printing companies, paper is the most basic raw material and the basis for survival. For the people, paper is both a necessity for life and a carrier for spiritual food.

Such an important production and living material will definitely have a great impact when its price changes drastically.

The price increase of this round of paper is somewhat unexpected. The momentum is so strong that the increase is unexpected. The price per ton of book publishing paper exceeded 1,000 yuan; the news paper rose more than 20%; 48.8 grams of newsprint, for example, the price per ton in the first three quarters of 2007 fluctuated between 4,400 and 4,500 yuan. In January 2008, it rose to 4,850 yuan per ton, but in March it suddenly rose to 5,500 yuan per ton. The increase in coated paper and offset paper is also between 20% and 30%; even the daily use of toilet paper has risen by 2 to 3 yuan. In a short period of time, the general price increase from production paper to household paper can not be said to be a rare phenomenon.

There is a reason for the price increase of paper. The rising price of paper raw materials and coal-electric water is the cause of the rise in paper prices. The price of international pulp has soared from 4,000 yuan/ton last year to 5800 yuan/ton per ton. The net increase was 1,800 yuan, an increase of 31.1%. US Waste Paper No. 8 accounts for about 60% of the direct cost of newsprint, while global waste paper supply is declining year by year. US waste paper No. 8 supply and demand are unbalanced, and prices have risen sharply. The average price in 2006 was $140/ton, but now it has exceeded US$250/ton, especially after entering 2008, the increase in the two months exceeded 19%. The price increase of paper pulp and waste paper, the main raw material for papermaking, is so large that it is not surprising that paper prices will rise. The soaring price of paper tests the ability of printing companies, publishing houses, newspapers, magazines, teaching materials management departments and all paper units or individuals. This is a question of overall importance. As far as the current situation is concerned, self-help has become the only choice for downstream companies and consumers.

In the face of rising paper prices, downstream companies should not only rely on technological innovation, strengthen management, increase labor productivity, but also increase the cost of paper. They should also predict the trend of the paper market through the appearance of paper price increases, and be prepared to obtain a reasonable downstream transmission. The ability to increase costs to cope with the new round of "Luoyang paper expensive" phenomenon and its negative impact. In fact, this round of paper price increase papermaking enterprises are also "victims". Because of the price increase of paper pulp, they are also helpless, and they are forced to pass on to downstream enterprises. In the face of the common paper market, both paper mills and users should join hands to face the reality, improve their tolerance.
