What issues should be noted in prepress documentation?
The main purpose of prepress file processing is to process text information and graphics and image information processing. Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Coreldraw and other graphic image processing software can be selected for production. The problems that need to be paid attention to in prepress document production include the following aspects.
1. Color mode
Different color modes will result in different printing effects. When the file color mode is RGB, if the document is to be single black, after the customer confirms, the document can be converted to grayscale; if the document is 4-color printing, the customer needs to be notified again. Provide documentation or authorize prepress producers to convert the color space to ensure that the document meets the color space required for printing (CMYK, GRAY).
2. trapping, that is, trapping, also known as scaling
Mainly to compensate for the whitening between two adjacent different colors due to inaccurate printing overprinting. The four-color anti-white characters must be trapped (requires two or more anti-white characters or color blocks to be treated with explosives). The implementation of trapping processing must also follow certain principles. Under normal circumstances, the color is not expanded, the color is expanded, the color is not expanded, and the net is expanded without expanding the ground. Sometimes, mutual expansion is also possible. In special cases, reverse trapping is performed, and even a gap is added between the two adjacent colors to compensate for the overprinting error.
The amount of trapping quantity depends on the characteristics of the printing material and the overprinting precision of the printing system. It can also be determined according to the customer's printing accuracy or requirements. Generally, the offset of the offset printing is smaller, about 0.05mm~0.1mm, gravure The amount of trapping and flexo printing is larger, generally 0.2mm to 0.3mm.
The trapping can be manually adjusted by the design software, or it can be automatically adjusted by the printing equipment process (such as the Heidelberg Cockpit process). 3. Bleeding
The bleeding design of the printed matter is very flexible. If the size of the color box is less than 25in×38in, or the cartridge, the bleeding position is 3mm; if it is larger than 25in×38in, the bleeding position is 5mm; if it is large, it can be 10mm. Bleeding position.
For the color box to check the double position, the bleeding should be divided, in which the box of the cartridge is 3mm bleeding, the rest must be hollowed out, the pit box of the pit box is 5mm, and the pit box of the large box can be opened. Do 10mm bleeding.
4. Biting position setting
Generally, the size of the bite is 10mm~12mm. During the imposition process, when calculating the paper size and page position, the size of the bite must be considered, and the width of the bite should be added when setting the page size.
5. Spot color settings
Spot color printing uses spot color inks for printing, which has the characteristics of accuracy, solidity, opacity, and wide color gamut. In addition, in order to clearly express fine graphics, such as mixed-color graphics or reverse-white lines of fine strokes, spot color processing may also be employed to enhance the delicateness and realism of the fine lines.
When using spot colors, you should pay attention to the combination of spot color and name, spot color screen angle, spot color and 4-color printing. Of course, the printing cost of spot colors also needs to be considered. Generally, the printing of three colors or less usually uses spot colors, and in four colors, non-special requirements do not use spot colors.
6. Check the output file before
Completely analyze the designed files without considering any subsequent file output device conditions, to avoid any incomplete or missing electronic file characters, improper or neglected color registration, inconsistent color space, and insufficient resolution. Problems with insufficient bleeding, page faults, improper color separation, and potential binding problems or image inconsistencies. Through actual production experience, only character errors will cause a large loss, so pre-press inspection is very necessary.

4. Check after output

Whether there is a page position, incomplete printing or defacement, whether there is content outside the cutting or cutting, whether the text content is complete, whether there is missing word, drop word, text position, font is different;
Whether the paper opening size matches the work order, whether the number of colors and the number of typesetting are correct;
Whether the mouth word, cross, color mark, ribbon, pull gauge line, etc. are complete, whether the tooth line meets the requirements;
Whether the bleeding position is sufficient;
The front and back sides of the blue paper must be aligned with double-sided tape. Fold the book according to the folding method of the billing.
