Recently, Ito Ink Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. is the world's first UV ink for UV offset printing IMD molding process. Suitable for large electrical products, such as washing machine casings, refrigerator casings, air conditioners and other electrical appliances, printing patterns are more refined, more colorful, environmentally friendly and quick-drying.


UV offset injection molding decorative ink is also called inner mold surface decoration (IMD) ink. When used, the offset plastic (PC/PET) film is firstly cured and put into the injection mold, and then injected into the molding to make the resin and plastic. The film is bonded and formed. Compared with silk screen UV-curable IMD inks, YTJY9000 products make full use of the high precision of offset printing, which greatly improves the clarity and layering of the picture. The cured film has good thermal stability and wear resistance, and has excellent adhesion fastness and flexibility to PET and PC films, ensuring no discoloration, breakage, and shedding of the ink during thermal shock injection molding. Mainly used in electronic products (such as mobile phone buttons, housings, window lenses; refrigerators, rice cookers, washing machines, cosmetics boxes, MP3, computers, cars, VCD, DVD, electronic notebooks, signs, etc.) surface decoration.


UV ink IMD process: offset UV ink → light curing → composite PC / PET film → forming → trimming → injection molding → complete parts. 300-420 mesh screen can be used for printing, and there are many varieties such as standard four-color, spot color and dilute varnish.


IML process


Cutting---Plane printing---Ink drying and fixing---Plastic protective film---punching positioning hole---thermoforming---shearing peripheral shape---material injection molding process flow as shown below: specific description as follows


1) Cutting: The roll film Film is cut into square pieces of designed size for printing and molding processes.


2) Flat printing: According to the required icons and characters, it is made into a film network, and icons and characters are printed on the cut film square block.


3) Ink drying and fixing: The printed film Film square is placed in a high temperature oven for drying, in order to fix the IML ink.


4) Sticking protective film: avoiding the surface of the printed film Film during the punching process, sometimes it is necessary to apply a single layer or double layer protective film.


5) Punching the positioning hole: The thermoforming positioning hole must be punched. The locating holes in the shearing process are sometimes punched in advance.


6) Thermoforming (high pressure or copper mold): After the printed film is heated, it is molded in a preheated state by a high pressure machine or a copper mold.


7) Shear peripheral shape: The scrap of the formed three-dimensional film is sheared off.


8) Material injection: The film with the same shape as the front mold of the front mold is placed on the front mold, and the finished product of the IML is injection molded.


Advantages and disadvantages of the IML process


Advantages:


1) The film production cycle is short and can display multiple colors;


2) The pattern and color can be changed at any time during production;


3) The outermost layer of IML is FILM, the ink is printed on the middle layer, the appearance is smooth and beautiful, the more the touch is brighter, and it has excellent scratch resistance;


4) The quantity of IML production batch is very flexible, suitable for multi-variety and small-scale production.


Disadvantages:


1) The previous period is long;


2) It is easy to produce film peeling, distortion and the like;


3) High product defect rate.


IML design considerations:


1) Injection thickness: It is recommended that the average meat thickness be no less than 1.2mm (excluding Film 1.0mm)


2) Film thickness specifications are: 0.1mm, 0.125mm, 0.175mm


3) Film single-chip printing, suitable for a small variety of design occasions


4) The appearance color is bright silver, and the metallic color such as electroplating silver is not suitable for this method, and it is easy to cause the film to be peeled off due to high and low temperature.


5) The size of the outer edge of the film has an absolute relationship with the size of the mold cavity. If it is too small or too large, the cavity will be stretched and the edge will be leaked.


6) The minimum diameter of the round hole on the Lens is Φ1.0mm


7) LensP.L position is generally at the bottom of Lens, if the problem of draft angle can be covered by the bottom edge of the film 0.2mm


8) Lens's draft angle is generally 3o


9) For the case of Lens's appearance difference, Film must be formed beforehand;


10) Design of the rounded corner: The appearance of the IML is not sharp, and the outline should avoid sharp angles. Therefore, there should be no sharp corners in the design. The corners of the product must have a rounded corner (at least 0.3) R)


11) Edge problem: The edge refers to the part of the edge where the film is bonded to the plastic. This edge cannot be very neat after injection molding. Therefore, when designing the application of IML, we can block the edge with plastic parts.


12) Surface wear resistance requirements: 3H or more
