Let's take the screen FT-R5055 as an example to introduce some other settings of the HQ-510 RIP.
1. Output Device Management (Device Manager)
This item is used to set the output device to which the RIP is connected. The setting method is to select the Device Manager menu in the HQ-510PM of HQ RIP (if the RIP of the PC is HQ-510PC) menu, click the left mouse button to select, and the following menu appears.
After installing the software for the first time, there is no output device in the column below Figure 1, you need to add it yourself. Select the New button below to display the menu below.
Type the device name given by the user in the Name field so that it can be selected in other settings later. Type the name of the device installed in the drop-down menu behind Type. Select it. If the name of the connected device is not found, the driver for the device is not installed, as long as it is installed, it can be seen in this column. Address does not require the user to fill in, just empty, RIP will automatically find the device. After the setting is completed, press OK.
2. Configure RIP parameters (Configure RIP)
This item is mainly used to set some parameters of RIP. In the HQ RIP HQ-510PM (if it is the RIP of the PC is HQ-510PC) menu, select the Configure RIP menu, click the left mouse button to select, the following menu appears.
Usually the output process of a PS file is: typesetting software→Network buffer→Workspace→CPU→Page buffer→Printer buffer→Imagesetter. Therefore, the space setting of these buffers is critical in the dispatching process, which directly affects the speed of the hairline. In this project is to set up these projects. The Workspace folder and the Page buffer folder have default folders after installing the software, and generally do not need to be changed. If the user needs to replace this folder, click the Change button below to modify it. Page buffering is a file buffering mode. There are four options in the following drop-down menu: Multiple (Parallel) is a multi-task simultaneous operation, which can receive data while processing and output processed data. This option is efficient. It is recommended to use this item; Multiple does the next work after receiving one piece of work for receiving data, processing, and output; Single (if required) is to use only memory space during work, and will use it when not enough. Hard disk space; Single uses only memory space and only does one job at a time. Compress page buffer is a compressed storage data. After selecting this, the data will be compressed and stored, which saves space. It is recommended to select it. The data behind the Network buffer can be adjusted according to the number of computers connected to the RIP on the network. The general data is a multiple of 1024, usually set to 8192. The data behind the Printer buffer is generally related to the model of the imagesetter connected to the RIP. When the screen is connected to the FT-R5055 and FT-R3050 imagesetters, the value is set to 16384. This data is also a multiple of 1024. The time set after Job timeout is the maximum time of a job. When a job exceeds this time, RIP will automatically interrupt the work, so this value should not be too small, the default data after basic installation can be .
The items that appear after clicking the Extras button next to it are some of the special techniques of HQ that are purchased at an additional cost. After clicking on Options, the following menu appears.
In this menu, we need to introduce three items. One is Disk space left for system. When the hard disk uses this megabyte, it will automatically delete the previous file. For FT-R5055 machine, it is recommended. The value is set to 20MB. For the FT-R3050, the initial value after installation can be used. The second is the Band size for printing buffer. This item controls the amount of data transferred each time. Generally, it is 512KB. The third is the lower stop/start below. When this item is selected, the data is not transmitted when the images are exposed. The exposure will stop and wait for the data. Generally, this item is only used for faster exposure. RIP's drum imagesetter does not need to be selected for winch imagesetters such as FT-R5055 and FT-R3050.
3. Send clip management (Cassette Manager)
In the HQ RIP's Output menu, select the Cassette Manager menu and click the left mouse button to select it. The following menu appears.
After clicking Edit or New, the following menu appears.
Name is the name of the clip, Media Type is the type of media, Media Width is the width of the media, and Remaining Length is the remaining length of the media. The above items are filled in by the user. Number The position where the clip is placed for this purpose. Unit is the unit of the media width and remaining length. After setting, click OK to complete the settings of the feed clip.
