In the inkjet printing apparatus, the nozzle surface tends to adhere to foreign matter in the printing process, thereby affecting the quality of inkjet printing. Foreign matter on the surface of a liquid inkjet printer nozzle is usually caused by two reasons.
First, an ink mist is generated during the inkjet printing process, and the ink mist adheres to the nozzle surface, thereby causing the nozzle to be dirty.
Second, the inkjet head is exposed to the air for a long time, various dust particles in the air, and paper dust in the inkjet process are easily adsorbed to the nozzle, or ink mist, dust/dust particles are accumulated on the nozzle surface and mixed with the ink. It also causes the nozzle surface to be dirty, which ultimately affects the print quality.
Then, what are the hazards caused by the presence of foreign matter on the nozzle surface? There are two main points.
(1) The print medium is dirty. If the nozzle surface is adhered to foreign matter, it may cause the print medium to become dirty, and eventually cause the printed image to be dirty.
(2) The nozzle opening is blocked, resulting in poor ink ejection. If the foreign matter on the nozzle surface is deposited near the nozzle opening, the nozzle port will be clogged, resulting in failure to properly eject ink, eventually causing problems such as whiteout of the printed image and affecting the quality of the printed product.
Nozzle surface foreign body cleaning technology classification
The foreign matter cleaning on the nozzle surface is usually wiped by a wiper, and the wiper is mainly divided into a blade wiper and a ribbon wiper.
01 scraper wiper
As shown in Fig. 1, the blade-shaped wiper wipes off the surface of the nozzle by wiping off the nozzle surface with a flexible blade.

Figure 1 Scraper-like wiper structure
The blade-shaped wiper has the advantages of simple structure and small space occupation, and is widely used in the wiping of the nozzle surface. However, the blade-shaped wiper has a small absorption structure and insufficient absorption, which may cause insufficient wiping, and therefore needs frequent replacement. .
On the other hand, due to the simple structure, it is generally difficult for the blade-shaped wiper to provide the cleaning liquid for dilution, which causes a large frictional force between the wiper and the nozzle surface, and is likely to damage the nozzle surface.
02 strip wiper
As shown in Fig. 2, the belt wiper is pressed by a pressing support device between the take-up roll and the take-up roll to wipe the nozzle by the strip-shaped wiper. Since the wiping process of the ribbon wiper is continuous, the amount of absorption is sufficient, thereby ensuring the wiping effect.

In addition, a cleaning liquid supply device (such as a cleaning liquid spraying device, a cleaning liquid roller coating method, a cleaning liquid droplet filling method, etc.) may be disposed on the conveying path of the ribbon wiper to provide a cleaning liquid to the nozzle surface, thereby achieving wetness on the nozzle surface. Wiping effectively reduces or even prevents wear on the nozzle surface.
