It is not difficult to understand in a literal sense. Satellite EB offset printing is a combination of satellite center impression cylinder structure, EB curing and offset printing. This innovative invention uses conventional satellite flexo printing and EB curing to energize traditional offset printing, overcoming the inability of conventional offset printing presses to continuously print thinner or more stretchable film materials (eg BOPP, PET). The problems of PE, PA, OPS, PVC, etc., provide a new way of film printing for the flexible packaging industry.
Innovation combination
The key technologies of EB offset printing have been dismantled from the above, and their advantages are mainly reflected in these three aspects.
1. Satellite center impression cylinder structure
The satellite center impression cylinder structure, because the printing material can be tightly wrapped on the surface of the central impression cylinder, the tension is very stable, the overprinting precision is higher, the printing material range is wider, especially suitable for printing thinner or stretched. Strong film; short paper path, easy to register and less loss of printing material before formal printing; machine structure is rigid and performance is more stable.
2. EB curing
EB curing is a type of radiation curing, which uses an electron beam (ie, EB, emitted by an EB curing device) as a radiation source to induce a rapid conversion of a specially formulated 100% reactive liquid (ie, EB ink) into a solid to complete the curing. An ink film is formed on the surface of the printed product. Typically, the EB curing unit is installed after the printing color set, and after all color printing is completed, the final curing is performed.
Like UV inks, EB inks are also energy-curable inks. They use solvent-free volatilization during use, which not only cuts off VOCs emissions from the printing process, but also reduces the health hazards to operators. However, unlike UV inks, EB inks do not contain a photoinitiator, which solves the problem of easy migration of photoinitiators contained in UV inks, and is particularly suitable for packaging foods, pharmaceuticals, etc., which have high requirements for hygiene and safety.
In addition, the EB ink generates less heat when it is cured, which is cold-cured, and does not cause deformation of the substrate due to heat; the curing time is short, generally only 0.1 second can be completely cured; the ink layer has good chemical resistance. And abrasion resistance; high ink color density, beautiful appearance of printed products, strong gloss and three-dimensional sense; long storage time, generally more than 2 years, can be stored in the ink fountain for one night without knot The skin and hardening phenomenon can reduce the cleaning frequency of the printing machine and reduce the cleaning time. The uncontaminated residual ink can be reused within 3 months.
3. Offset printing
Offset printing has almost never been involved in film printing, mainly because the film is a non-absorbent material, and the drying problem of the conventional offset ink on the film causes the wet stack to be not completed on the film. After using EB offset printing, this problem was successfully overcome, and the following advantages of offset printing were fully revealed.
Compared to gravure and flexo, offset plates can be imaged and processed in minutes and can be used immediately on the press, greatly reducing the preparation time before printing, from ordering to printing in just 3 hours. Provides greater flexibility for production planning, especially when it comes to rush orders, without disrupting current production schedules. Moreover, the price of offset printing plates is relatively cheap, only 30 to 50 yuan per square meter, and the price of the same area of gravure is 1,600 yuan. The disparity between the cost of plate making, which opens up the market gap for the offset printing trend of offset printing. In addition, offset printing can be used for 7-color high-fidelity printing. When changing orders, each color group can be cleaned without having to improve the efficiency of changing the order, and can also save the ink cost to a certain extent.
