With the continuous decline in the price of computer hardware, computers and peripherals (such as printers, scanners, etc.) have been widely used in office and home applications. In all peripherals, printers have a high failure rate. In fact, printers appear. There are many non-hardware reasons for this problem, and even if it is not a professional, it can be solved. Let's talk about some of the simpler problems I have encountered during the printer repair process:


First, the printed characters are incomplete and the characters are not clear.


Analysis of the cause: For inkjet printers, there may be two reasons: 

1.The ink cartridge is exhausted;

2. The printer is not used for a long time or exposed to direct sunlight, and the nozzle is clogged. For the dot matrix printer, there may be the following reasons:

(1). The time it takes to print the ribbon is too long;

(2). The print head has not been cleaned for a long time, and there is too much dirt; 

(3).The print head has a broken needle;

(4).The print head drive circuit is faulty.

Solution: For inkjet printers, you can replace the ink cartridges or inject ink. If the ink cartridges are not used up, you can conclude that the nozzles are clogged: remove the ink cartridges (for non-integrated printers, you need to remove the nozzles, but be careful) Soak the nozzle in warm water for a while, be careful not to immerse the board part in the water, otherwise the consequences will be unimaginable. For the dot matrix printer, you can adjust the distance between the print head and the print roller. If not, you can change the ribbon. If it doesn't work, you need to clean the print head. The method is: remove the two fixing screws on the print head, take off the print head, use a needle or a small hook to remove the dirt on the front and back of the print head, generally the ribbon fiber accumulated for a long time, and then print The back of the head can see a few drops of instrument oil in the place where the needle is seen, in order to remove some dirt, do not install a few sheets of paper in the ribbon, and then install the ribbon, so that the problem can be basically solved, if it is a print head Needle or drive circuit problem, it can only get to the maintenance department.


Second, when printing, there is a black war with uneven thickness on the printing paper. When it is serious, the whole sheet of paper is.


Cause analysis: This phenomenon generally occurs on a dot matrix printer because the print head is too dirty or the distance between the print head and the print roller is too small or the print paper is too thick.


Solution: Remove the printhead, clean the printhead, or adjust the distance between the printhead and the printhead.


Third, the writing is clear on one side and the other side is not clear.


Analysis of the cause: This phenomenon is generally also present on the dot matrix printer. Inkjet printers may also appear, but the probability is small, mainly because the print head guide rail and the print roller are not parallel, resulting in a distance between the two.


Solution: You can adjust the distance between the printhead guide and the print roller to make them parallel. The specific method is: loosen the two sides of the print head guide, respectively, rotate the adjustment piece counterclockwise to reduce the gap, increase the gap clockwise, and finally adjust the parallel relationship between the print head guide and the print roller. Pay attention to the adjustment of the direction, you can gradually adjust, print a few more times.


Fourth, the print head feels resisted when printing, and the printing will stop for a long time or vibrate in the original place.


Analysis of the cause: The print head guide rail will become dry for a long time, and the print head will be blocked when it moves. To a certain extent, the printing will stop, and in severe cases, the drive circuit can be burned out.


Solution: Apply a few drops of instrument oil to the print rails and move the print head back and forth to make it even. Reboot, if there is still a blocked phenomenon, it may be that the drive circuit is burnt out, you need to get the maintenance department.


Fifth, After the printer is turned on, there is no response, and it is not powered at all.


Cause analysis; the printer has an overcurrent protection device that acts as a current protection when the current is too high. This phenomenon basically occurs when the printer fuse burns out.


Solution; open the case and find the fuse in the internal power supply of the printer (the internal power supply can be found near the external power supply of the printer) to see if it is black, or use a multimeter to measure whether it burns out. If it burns out, change it to a basic one. A matching fuse can be used (the rated current is marked on the fuse).
