On a plate printed on a porous printing, the printed portion is composed of holes of different sizes or meshes of the same size but of different numbers, the holes can pass through the ink, and the blank portions cannot pass through the ink. During printing, the ink is printed through holes or meshes onto paper or other substrates to form a printed product, as shown in Figure 2-4.
The finished ink of the stencil printing is thicker than the gravure printing ink. The printing plates used mainly include: mimeograph, skeleton forme, screen plate and the like. Hole printing often
It is used for printing office documents, posters, merchandise packaging, color painting, printed circuits, and printing on irregular curved surfaces, and also for a small amount of map printing.
Among the above four types of printing, according to the contact relationship between the printing plate and the substrate, it can be divided into direct printing and indirect printing. Direct printing of the ink on the graphic part directly to the printing surface of the substrate. Indirect printing is symmetrical with the direct printing method. It is the printing method of the ink on the printed image, which is transferred to the surface of the substrate through the transfer of the intermediate carrier. The printing plate is not in direct contact with the substrate.
The graphic on the directly printed plate is the reverse image, and the graphic on the indirect printed plate is a positive image, and the two are different. Letterpress printing, gravure printing, and stencil printing generally use direct printing, but letterpress and gravure are also used for indirect printing, such as dry offset printing and pad printing. The lithographic printing can be directly printed, such as lithographic and sinographic printing, but most of them use indirect printing, such as offset printing.
