CTP and CTCP technologies are an inevitable result of the development of digital technology and digitalization in the printing industry. In recent years, its development has been advancing by leaps and bounds. The popularity of direct plate-making technology has become an irresistible trend. When I talked about it here, I remembered that I attended the CTP conference in Guangzhou Garden Hotel ten years ago. I first heard the concept of CTP. I feel very excited, very fresh, very eager, and have some doubts. The desire for CTP technology is because I have been a plate apprentice since the late 1970s. I have worked in the traditional hand-made room for more than ten years. I deeply understand that it is not easy to make a set and print a version. It is very hard to work. For example, an imprinter who works for more than ten hours a day, has no need to sit, has been bent to dry to work, so I will know. Now the high and low shoulders are occupational diseases, and my master is the same. The printing plate is also very hard, very stressful, very afraid of virtual light, especially drying the net. Every film has to judge how long it takes to dry, and the film is not flat. It is not so easy to dry a plate. To control the size of the dot, the printing department can't catch the color, and it takes a little time to print the sun. So, I am very happy to hear the concept of CTP, it is my dream, so it will not be so hard by hand. For doubts about this aspect, it is digital proofing, which was impossible to understand at the time, and it is impossible to think. Because of different papers, different inks, different machines, how is it possible? I will fully understand it after use. Because of the software support, the simulation is very similar. Digital proofing is now very mature. The medium-sized printing factory can achieve an average value of about △E0.6, and the printing can basically follow the digital proofing. The invention of CTP is a great revolution for printing. Our consumers enjoy quality and beautiful prints, and they also have a credit for it.


Both CTP and CTCP belong to the computer-to-plate technology, and the obvious difference between the two is that the plates are different. But both have the following commonalities, which have brought about a significant improvement in our production efficiency and quality.


1 Process reduction, saving time and shortening delivery cycle.

2 The production process is reduced, the outlets are easy to control, the printing level is rich in performance and the quality is stable.

3 Improve printing efficiency, print plate loading, and reduce calibration time.

4 labor saving (minus film development processing, manual imposition, printing, revision, etc.).

5 material savings, eliminating the need for the film section.

6 In color management, it has become easier. Printing standardization, which is popular in the world today, is relatively easy to implement on both CTP and CTCP.


For thermal CTP, the current market is very mature and stable, and many printing companies have already used it and are constantly expanding. For CTCP, due to the introduction of the market, so far, the usage rate is not as popular as CTP. But the level of attention is getting higher and higher. The reason for this may be due to the recent impact of the financial tsunami, rising raw materials, labor costs, and the continuous appreciation of the renminbi, especially the impact of the financial tsunami. It has brought great pressure to enterprises, improving production efficiency and reducing production costs, which is an important way for enterprises to develop. Everyone thinks about the advantages of CTCP on the plate. Because the obvious feature of CTCP is the use of traditional PS plates, traditional PS plates are much cheaper than thermal CTP plates, and printers are familiar with PS plates.


Now I want to talk to you about some of the experiences of using CTCP in the past two years:

Before the introduction of CTCP, we were also very cautious, conducted a visit and research, and learned more about the application performance of CTCP. When CTCP first arrived at the factory, we were also worried about how the traditional version compares with the quality of the thermal version. Our fears are not unreasonable. We encountered some problems in the process of use, and we are fortunate to have solved them one by one.


The first problem encountered was a media issue (not a machine problem). Because the traditional PS version that the middle-editing factory has been using for many years has been very stable with the traditional exposure printing machine, when the PS version is published on the CTCP machine, there is a problem: speed Very slow 8-10 shots per hour; the flushed version is a bit clean and some are not clean. After comparison with the traditional PS version, it is found that the traditional Ps version generally uses a conventional drying machine to achieve a level 3 break, and even a level 4 break. The laser power of CTCP is not as good as that of the traditional printing machine, so the CTCP machine can only achieve one-level whitening (which may be its advantage) in order to ensure the speed. When using the traditional PS version to reduce the time when encountering a weak network during the printing process, at most, it is 2 levels broken white, so that it can not be dirty. However, it is the first problem that is placed in front of us to stabilize the first level of whitening and the speed is fast. In order to solve the problem, after the Fuji PS version is tried, some dirty and speed problems are solved. And, l% outlets are out, 99% outlets are not ambiguous, from 8-10 sheets per hour to 14 sheets.


The second problem, the CTCP machine's own characteristics, in the case of Linear, 50% of the network can only achieve 47-48%, because we use CTP system to make One Bit documents sent to CTCP machine publishing, this can not take us The G7 curve that has been prepared is directly published. Later, we came up with a method to use a density meter in the case of Linear, and calculate the data for each point, and then compare it with the curve that has already been done. Calculate the error value and generate a new curve to issue the plate. This way, the curve is used to solve this problem, and the result is very good.


The third problem encountered was that CTCP took more than a week and the speed slowed down. It is no problem after the engineer wiped the exposure unit. However, it is necessary to maintain the exposure unit once every 2 weeks, which is troublesome. After we worked with CTCP engineers and Fuji engineers, we found out the root cause. Found that the traditional PS version of the manufacturing, taking into account the need to pump the plate, the film and the version of the film is exposed, so that the image can be restored to the zinc plate, in order to easily pump, generally on the plate layout Added a very fine layer of powder. However, this very fine powder layer stains the CTCP exposure unit, so the speed of use will gradually slow down.


Fuji solved this problem by producing a PS plate for CTCP characteristics through graduate students and removing the powder layer on the surface. This publication not only exposes faster, but also reduces exposure power, and the publishing speed is increased to 18 sheets per hour, but it needs to work under a yellow light.


After two years of experience, I believe that the traditional PS version should be used stably on the CTCP machine, requiring the plate to be faster, and the layout should be even. These two conditions are available, and there is no big problem. Now CTCP machine can achieve a resolution of 2400dpi, the accuracy can reach the general basic requirements of printing, and can meet the cost reduction requirements of printing companies.

Finally, thermal CTP and CTCP have their own strengths. Each enterprise should choose a reasonable matching method according to its own situation. Since the beginning of the millennium, the use of thermal CTP has been used since the beginning of the millennium. At the same time, the use of thermal CTP and CTCP has been chosen, and the two models complement each other to achieve different effects.
