    According to the latest report from the German printing media, Glunz & Jensen has launched the Plate-Writer 2400 inkjet CTP platesetter. The machine features a plate recording system and its associated non-photosensitive iPlate plate, so it can be operated in daylight. Since the plate used is electrochemically roughened, it is a plate with no temperature sensitive and non-photosensitive coating. The Plate-Writer 2400 platesetter can be used in normal daylight environment.


    The CTP inkjet system produces a printed aluminum plate that is not chemically developed, and prints image information directly on an uncoated aluminum plate with the patented special ink LiquiDot. When used, the plate is placed on the input station and the plate is automatically entered. The optical sensor identifies the front edge of the plate and checks the positioning accuracy to ensure alignment of the plates. The newly produced offset printing plate is fixed in the post-processing section and then automatically glued. The machine can output 2880dpi resolution equivalent to 30μm FM dot precision plate, and can produce 6 B3 plates per hour, ensuring the output needs of small printing plants.


    Navigator-RIP is licensed by Harlequin to control the iCtP platemaking system. All dedicated RIP parameters are adjusted in the so-called Page-Setup layout settings dialog, where resolutions, media sizes, etc. are set.


    The calculated bitmap is transferred to the inkjet printer via the USB interface, which prints the image in both directions on the anodized aluminum plate. Gray ladder, imposition, spot color, CMYK color or RGB color data can be calculated by various settings of RIP. The calibration curve can be drawn by the CalibrationManager calibration management software, and as the curve is adjusted, the inkjet machine can achieve high quality printing.


    In order to achieve perfect results, select the preset and stored curve in the CalibrationManager, so that the device can be put into production soon after installation. The most commonly used plate sizes have been stored. The distance between the image and the edge of the plate can be adjusted individually.
