If customers need more colors, such as orange or green, inkjet companies need a printing device that offers a larger color gamut. This investment will eventually translate into better service and bring more business to the company. This is why it is important to realize that the ability of color management is a major foundation for the profitability of inkjet companies.
For example, if the quality of the received customer files is not very high, there are some ways to solve the quality problem of the original and share the modification effect with the customer. These ideas can help customers get closer to their originals or provide an alternative design to ensure a more consistent quality during the printing process.
Learning theory
Inkjet companies need to understand three important issues.
First of all, color is a science and technology. The colors are first subjected to color separation, which ultimately constitutes the color gamut reproduced by the output device.
The scan uses RGB mode, all scans and photos are in RGB mode, we need to convert RGB mode to CMYK mode. We need to use special methods, such as replacing with gray components, which means converting from RGB to CMYK, cyan to red, but red is not composed of cyan, and red is composed of magenta and yellow. Therefore, a gray component appears, and in order to ensure the purity of the color, we must replace it. If you do not replace the gray component, the final color will be inconsistent.
The second issue is the device color profile. Any device, such as a wide-format output device, display, smartphone, or printer, has a color profile that we can look up in the software we use to manage it to ensure it is closest to the output device used.
The third consideration is the effect. Designers and manufacturers need to know the Pantone MATCHING SYSTEM (abbreviated as PMS). PMS is what we call a spot color, but it's just the number of Pantone matches you buy and license, not necessarily on all materials, because not all devices are compatible. You must verify that the output device has the required Pantone color output capability and that this spot color is consistent with the color model.
There are many types of high-fidelity output devices that can output high-fidelity colors, and the number of colors that can be copied is also increasing. Some devices can output hexacolor, which is specifically used to output Pantone colors.
You must know what your device can do. Is this a high-fidelity device? Is it a hexacolor device? Is there a color separation? Where can I get a spot color? The inkjet business must determine the output device, its color profile and the specific color gamut, as well as the amount of color the device can output, and so on.
