According to the latest data from China Customs, from January to July 2011, China's cumulative imports of paper and cardboard reached 2.26 million tons, a decrease of 1.4% over the same period last year (from January to August 2010, the number of imported paper and cardboard was 2.3 million tons); During the period, China's accumulated imports of paper and cardboard amounted to US$2,795,650,000, an increase of 13.0% compared with the same period last year (January-August 2010, imports of paper and cardboard amounted to US$2,473,754,000).

In August 2011, the price of each paper grade was stable this month. With the downward trend of domestic pulp prices and the gradual entry into the off-season of paper products in the third quarter, the current price of paper is under certain pressure. The terminal price of some paper products has begun to loosen, and it is necessary to look at the elimination of backward production capacity later. During the period, the number of imported paper and cardboard in China reached 290,000 tons, which was 3.0% lower than that of the previous month (300,000 tons in July 2011). The amount of imported paper and cardboard in August totaled 374,528 thousand dollars, compared with last month (2011). July was 370,185 thousand US dollars), an increase of 1.2% compared with the chain.
