Phenomenon: The printed matter after curing has a pungent feeling.
Cause 1: Dry curing is not complete.
Solution: Reduce printing speed or increase light source power.
Cause 2: The UV light source is insufficient or the lamp is aging.
Solution: Replace and choose the right source power. At present, the high-pressure mercury lamp has an average service life of about 1000 hours. With the use of the lamp, the electrode is gradually decomposed, and the inner wall of the lamp tube is deposited. The transparency and the transparency of the ultraviolet light are gradually decreased. Therefore, the lamp should be periodically performed. Detect and replace the problematic lamp in time to ensure that the UV ink is completely cured.
In addition, the correct handling of the UV lamp must also be noted. The quartz glass body of the UV lamp should not be taken by hand, otherwise the oil on the skin will stick to the quartz glass; instead, it can only hold the ceramic end or wear non-burlap gloves. Whenever a UV lamp is touched, it can be removed with an alcohol cleaning solvent after contact to remove grease from the lamp.
Reason 3: UV varnish has poor resistance to oxygen interference.
Solution: Strengthen the ventilation and exhaust (wind) system in the workshop.
Cause 4: The non-reactive diluent in the UV varnish was added too much.
Solution: Replace the UV varnish if necessary.
UV varnish is a transparent body, and there is no obstacle to ultraviolet light from the upper layer to the lower layer.
When testing the quality condition, apply UV varnish to the surface of ordinary white paper or white cardboard with a brush, apply a thickness of about 0.5mm or a little thicker, and cure it under UV light. If there is no bubble on the surface of the coating after curing, the surface smoothness is very high, indicating that the quality of the purchased UV varnish is good.
