Poor white ink leveling will reduce the coverage of white ink, such as BOPA/PE composite film packaging items (such as kimchi), the surface of the bag will be dark, and even affect the reading of small text; in addition, when the aluminum plating is compounded, it will be covered by white ink. Insufficient to reveal the color of the aluminum layer. There are several factors that affect the leveling of overprinted white ink:
(1) Plate wear. The typical phenomenon is not available in the new printing, as the number of printing increases. The basic feature of plate wear is that the width of the mesh wall increases, the width of the groove between the dots decreases or even disappears, and the depth of the cells becomes shallow, and the amount of ink is reduced. Because the plate is used for a period of time, it needs to be re-plated or reworked.
(2) Engraving parameters. The number of lines in the engraving parameters, the width of the mesh wall, the width of the groove, and the depth of the cells directly affect the transfer leveling of the ink. It is only by increasing the depth of the cell and increasing the amount of ink to deal with the problem of poor white ink overprinting.
(3) Viscosity of the ink. the white ink printing viscosity is too high (up to 16s), the transfer is poor, and the mesh wall is exposed. Because of the aluminum-plated composite, the aluminum-plated gloss is revealed. When the solvent is diluted in the white ink to 14 s, the leveling property of the printed white ink becomes good.
(4) The roughness of the overprinted base ink. The white ink is directly printed on the OPP film substrate and overprinted on the green ink layer to exhibit a completely different leveling effect. The green ink layer printed on the substrate actually has a certain roughness to improve the leveling property of the green ink printing. Conducive to the further leveling of the overprinted white ink.
